Dear Secret Santa,
I think that you will find that my wife and I have been very good board gamers this year. Well, okay board gamers. Maybe we're just alright.
Our current gaming loves include light strategy and social deduction board and card games that support as many as six or as few as two players. We're fans of both competitive and cooperative games, although we're definitely aware of the alpha player issue in coops. We tend to favor shorter games over longer games, and anything longer than about an hour per play probably won't see a lot of action for us. We also host bimonthly game days with 20-30 guests, so a diverse collection is also important to us.
Our current favorite games include Takenoko, No Thanks, Red7, Balloon Cup, King of Tokyo, Coup, Escape: the Curse of the Temple, and Rhino Hero.
We trust your Santa-riffic skills to determine the best choice for the next addition to our collection. One final note - we've recently added a new Meeple to our personal collection, so if you know of anything that will give her a good entry into the hobby, that would be greatly appreciated as well!
