Hello! I've been an avid fan of boardgames since I was just a wee tot. I believe my first board-game I can actually remember playing was chutes and ladders way back in 1972. Games have sure come a long way since then. In the late seventies and throughout the 80's, I was almost exclusively an RPG player but after settling down with a wife and children I'm now almost exclusively a board-gamer. I still own almost all the 2nd edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons stuff but I think I'll have to wait till my girls are a little older to show them how to play.
There was an old article in the General magazine years ago that basically puts gamers into one of three categories predominantly, either: Competitor gamer, Social gamer, Immersion (fluff) gamer. I definitely fall into the last. I love the immersion of what I'm playing and tend to choose games that appeal, first and foremost, on the subject matter. Next, I am a Social gamer and last probably a Competitor. When I was young those were definitely in the opposite order
If anyone ever wants to try and get together for a FTF game let me know. I'm always open to new people and playing something different!
