I've played games all my life, but only in the last few years discovered the wide range available, and as a consequence, BGG.
I prefer games with good theme, transparent mechanics and simple rules systems, but plenty of depth. This, of course, means I'm primarily a Euro gamer. I do like the odd light war game, but I'm not someone who consumes rule books with any kind of voracity. A thick, densely worded rule book is more likely to put me off than attract me. Saying that, I'll play pretty much anything if someone wants to walk me through it.
Fantasy-themed games turn me off. If you like them, I wish you well.
No-one should pay any attention to my play counts - I'm very poor at logging. I'm not very organised when it comes to statistics, for which I apologise
My top 10 and hot 10 change occasionally, but I don't keep either up to date any more - it just doesn't interest me.
If anyone actually wants to know what I think about a game (are you mad? I know nothing), the best thing to do is look at my game comments.
Right now I'm probably having a nice cup of tea.
I've played these recently:
When it comes to colour preference, apparently, I am green:Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.
That doesn't sound like me at all. (Well, maybe the smokin' love god bit, and I do enjoy restaurants.) I am GREEN? I am the colour of Hal Jordan's underwear? That does not make any sense at all. I'll tell you what colour I am: I'm whatever colour is left whenever everyone else has chosen. I do not care about colour, other than I'd rather not be either pink or grey; but even then I won't say no. What have those Magic dudes been smoking?Cardboard Rocks! It's just not the same on iOS.
