Santa! I have been very busy and haven't had too much time to look into your level 4 hints with the end of the year coming up (the worst time for an accountant like myself)! I'm still trying to sift through all the messages to piece together who's behind this great experience. Do you happen to have anymore hints? I have an idea but don't want to look silly if I'm off base!
Well I hope the Christmas spirit is still going strong for you!Update - 11/21/15
So it looks like I have come to the end of Level 2. A few wins against some tough opponents. I'm quite alright with that! And while Level 2 may be over, I think I have found a new addiction with that app. As For the Geekslist for Level 3, it should hopefully be up later today or early tomorrow. I have some ideas that should make this one a breeze while spreading some Christmas cheer!Level 2 Update:

Consider Hoop #1 jumped through...https://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/199760/my-five-most-h...Dear BGG Secret Santa,
I'm super excited to participate in the BGG Secret Santa again. This will be my second year participating. I was a part of the 2011 exchange and had an absolute blast. I missed it for a couple of years due to forgetting to sign up and regretted it every time the “Look What My Santa Got Me” lists came around. I missed being a part of such a big thing and seeing my giftee excited for their presents. This year I made it a point to join again.
I hope your year has been as good as mine. While some of my year was spent at the boring 9-5 accounting job (ok it’s not that boring but I would be put on the naughty list for lying if I tried to convince most people that accounting really isn’t the snooze fest it’s made out to be.), I did have one big milestone. I got engaged in Late October to my girlfriend of over 6 years. I know I have some long nights of planning ahead of me as we look towards the wedding /house buying but before that, I get to enjoy the best time of the year.
There is no better time of year than Christmas. Some may say “yea, but Christmas is so short”. Well for me, Christmas lasts from the first day of November until after my birthday come January. Yes, I may be going a little overboard on Christmas but as I said, I love it. I love it from the snow on the ground to the decorations inside and out. I love the food and most of all, the time spent with family. This year looks to be an especially good Christmas as I have friends coming in from out of town and of course my participation in the BGG Secret Santa.
Other than that it’s been a pretty normal year for me. I have actually had some good times gaming this year and have really dove back into BGG. I unfortunately haven’t been as good about tracking my plays lately, (I guess this could sway me towards the naughty list. I’m going to do better I promise!) so I have gone through and tried to update my rating and notes on games that I own to help you get a feel for what I like (I also explain some of that in the about me section below.)How My Wishlist Works:
Wishlist Ratings (1) – (3):
These all fall into one category, games I really want. I know BGG assigns particular levels of desire to each numbered rating but ultimately, I absolutely want all of these games. I have gone through and numbered these to give somewhat of a rough sense of which ones I may want more, but these ratings are constantly changing. It seems like every day I get on here and move games up or down based on my mood. Long story short, I think all of these games would make great gifts and I would be happy to receive any one of them be it a wishlist rating (3) or a wishlist rating (1).Wishlist Rating (4):
This Rating is used to list all of the expansions I’m interested in for games I don’t yet have. The base game is listed somewhere higher in my wishlist. I list these here because I am a completionist and if there is an expansion/promo for a game, I want to own it. Many of these expansions would fall higher up on my list if I owned the base game but I wanted a way to make it easy to separate the expansions since I don’t yet own the base game needed to use the expansion. With that said, I have no problem receiving an expansion to a game I don’t yet have. These are all expansions to games I want to eventually own, and the completionist in mean says I will eventually own all of the expansions as well. And getting an expansion may just be that nudge I need to finally go and pick up a particular game I have wanted to own.Wishlist Rating (5):
This is used just like it is intended, as a list of games to NOT buy. This is mainly for games/expansions that I have on another Christmas list for my family or I plan on purchasing myself.
I hope you enjoy your time being my Secret Santa. I have tried to give you as much input as possible to make things easy on you but if you have any questions or need anything feel free to use the Secret Santa account to ask me anything and I will respond right here in my profile. But most importantly, have fun and enjoy the spirit of Christmas. There is no better time than Christmas, getting to spend time with family and friends (both in life and on BGG). Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Thanks to my 2011 Secret Santa!https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/74475/item/1930589#item19...A little about myself...I'm your average 25 year old who loves all things gaming. I work a 9-5 accounting job that at times feels like a means to allow me to support my gaming habit. I have very recently been engaged to my girlfriend of over 6 years. We haven't started any real planning yet but I'm sure that may throw off some of my gaming schedule in the coming year.
As far as my gaming goes,I don’t have a game group that I’m a part of. I don’t have any designated game nights I attend. What I do have is a group of family and friends who are willing, some more than others, to humor me and try all these new games I buy. And buy games I do! Growing up we always had the usual suspects; clue, monopoly, risk. It wasn’t until 2011 and my purchase of Ticket to Ride for the Xbox 360 that I really got into the “designer Board game” world. After playing Ticket to Ride digitally, I had to have the physical copy. Got the game for Christmas, everyone loved it, and the rest was history.
Ever since my acquisition of Ticket to Ride I have been buying games I see here on the Geek. Some have been hits others have flopped. As you can tell by my plays (I don’t list all my plays like I should), I found a real winner with Dominion and its expansions. Friends and family alike all love it and it remains a game that’s played often. Unfortunately, with my current gaming partners I’m limited to light/light medium weight games, but that doesn’t mean they are any less fun.
If I had to describe my favorite types of games, I would say they are light weight and variable. I wouldn’t mind heavier weight games but they would never see the light of day with my family and friends. It’s important to be able to give clear, concise rules quickly and get the game rolling. Variable games are great as they eliminate people from finding that one way to victory while also keeping the game fresh for many game nights. As far as theme, I don’t have a preference but it can impact the ability to get the game to the table (train games had zero appeal initially). A mechanic we have really come to love is deck building. It’s such a simple mechanic that can be altered to fit many different games and genres and is easily expanded and variable.
Other than games, I’m your typical 25 year old. I love watching and playing sports. I still play indoor soccer weekly and keep up with the NFL (Cowboys), NCAA (Bearcats), BPL (Manchester United), NHL (Dallas Stars and Columbus Blue Jackets) and most importantly, the US Men’s National Team. I’m a huge video gamer as well as a board gamer. I have all of the current Gen consoles as well as most retro consoles going back to the NES. I love the usual action/comedy movies and try and keep up with the current comedies on tv (Rick and Morty, South Park, Workaholics, Always Sunny). I’m a huge super hero fan (primarily Marvel). I own all the films on Blu-Ray and one of my prized possessions is my 26 hardback volume collection of the entire run of the comic The Spirit.
If you want to know anything else then just ask!
