I've enjoyed playing and making board games all my life - a pastime that used to shrink my base of friends . I find that more and more are now buying into the joys of gaming and I am finding more people to enjoy these games with .
My wife and daughters aged 16 and 13 enjoy many of these games too but I have also initiated perhaps another 100 or so family and friends into the joys of boardgaming - from simpler "party" games like Balderdash , Compatability to Dixit , 7 Wonders , Ticket To Ride , Settlers , Carcassone and on to Cuba , Puerto Rico , Navegador , Vasco Da Gama ,Ra , Amun-Re , Carson City and more recently 1960 : TMOTP and Lancaster . (And I have many like these - with even a few heavier too.)
I LOVE teaching games and enjoy the social aspect which follows as a result from playing them . I want to play the heavier titles most of the time and have steadily built up a core group who will do so as well but I also appreciate that introducing anyone to something outside of the most rudimentary of other board game choices is a satisfying experience too .
