My gifts have arrived, see here
As you might expect from a BGG admin, I am an avid gamer. Lucky for me, many of my friends also enjoy boardgames, so every week, I usually have a couple of opportunities to play a game. Most of the time, I play games with one or two others, but sometimes, a game with more players is possible, especially when I have a chance to visit my games club. Many of my favourite games are eurogames, but there are also several ameritrash games and hybrid games on the list. I occasionally play a wargame, seldom play abstracts and don't really enjoy party games.
In addition to boardgames, I enjoy RPGs. I was an admin on RPGGeek (since June 2009) before I expanded my activities to BGG. At first, I did only forum moderation, but since June 2013, I've been working on the submission queues. Currently, I am playing the dwarf Thoraim Khurlode in a D&D 3.5 Savage Tide
campaign. Any remaining spare time I fill with reading (mostly fantasy, some science fiction, detectives and English literature), admin duties on BGG/RPGG, browsing RPGG and BGG. A couple of times per week, I'll watch an episode of a TV series on DVD. I'm currently watching Grimm
, which was recommended to me by a friend.
I've studied (and gained a PhD in) Computer Science, and I currently work at the (Dutch) Judicial Information Service.
Getting me a present can be a bit of a challenge, as I usually buy the games (and other things) I want straight away. Many of the games I do not have, I don't really want in my collection. My wishlist is up-to-date, though, so anything that is on there is something that will make me happy - with the obvious exception of the items marked "Don't buy this".
