I am an avid board game player, collector and fledgling designer currently residing in Western New York. As you can see be my favorite games I definitely prefer HEAVY eurogames. If it takes less than an hour and doesn't make my head hurt Id rather play something else.
I love games with a lot of interesting decisions to make, have a decent amount of thematic integration and have some kind of a learning curve so that players can get better at the game. The past two years I have become heavily involved in playing the game Age of Steam and it has quickly become my favorite game. As a side effect I am getting more interested and involved with playing the 18xx games.
I am an elementary school teacher by trade and enjoy incorporating games and game like structures into my lessons and units. I also run a game clubs for students. As a side effect I really enjoy explaining games and wrote a ridiculously long article about the subject. (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/299189
