I have been an active gamer since my boarding school days in the early '80's. I was fortunate enough to have a teacher who was a war game play-tester for Avalon Hill back in the day and he used games in his classes. Want to understand the causes of W.W.1? Try playing Diplomacy
with a bunch of teenage boys. He used Chivalry & Sorcery rules (without the sorcery) to teach medieval politics and many an afternoon was spent re-fighting the Civil War.
I have spent a good deal of time spreading the word of the joy of games by organizing an after-school games club as well as starting a monthly Game Night at my church.
