At the age of 13 I started playing Chess semi-seriously at a local club. I played Games Workshop games with my school friends (Blood Bowl, 40K, WFB) at weekends, and we played Hearts, Solo Whist, Canasta and Cribbage at lunch times.
Around 16 I started playing Dungeons and Dragons (basic D&D, not AD&D). I was DM for the second group. Played a little Feng Shui with the same group. Didn't play much GW during this period except Blood Bowl, but kept up with the Chess.
At Cambridge University I got into CCGs in a BIG way. Like everyone else I was bitten by the Magic bug, and a Cambridge there were lots of top players to play against.
Played a lot of Netrunner, and organised the biggest Netrunner tournements ever seen in the UK (as the London and Oxford players came to our tournements, thanks guys!).
Didn't play Chess at Cambridge (standard too high for my liking), but enjoyed playing Backgammon instead.
In between the CCGs I just about managed to get a degree.
On my return home from Uni, I played CCGs at least twice a week for over 5 years, first Magic, than Shadowfist and Vs. System.
Got into board games a couple of years ago when I played Puerto Rico at a friends house, and since moving to Newport in March 2006 play every Sunday and usually once or twice during the week if possible.
