I prefer abstracts. For some reason, "strategic abstracts" is taken to mean games with neither hidden information nor chance. I consider this to be a misnomer because games with chance or hidden information can really put the strategic into strategic abstract.
However, there are themed games which I also like. In most cases, that theme is a pretext for interaction between the players. Junta comes to mind, but Settlers of Catan fits, too.
By the way, I do not record every game I play on a 1-1 base. It is more like a logarithmic scale.
