Playing boardgames (serious ones) since 1967 in Junior High school.
Must have collected 200 or so wargames and then, like a fool I sold them all for the love of a woman and a move to the west coast. Slowly building up my collection now on eBay. For a long time I was taken with tabletop miniatures, moving through WRG ancients to Warhammer 40K then fantasy when my son was old enough to wield a paintbrush. Now I play at a local store in Oakland CA and solitaire at home. 2007 was my re-entry year in a big way moving to boardgames after years of playing miniatures. Once in a while I can get my wife to trade playing a game of Scrabble for a game of Africa Korps. I still keep both types of games on the burner but the Euro gaming has begun to include family and friends. Lately I've taken up Vassal play of both ASL and CC:E to get some relaxed gaming in. Top 10 are favorites over the years, Hot 10 are most recently played regardless of ratings. The last year (2010) has seen more ASL played with a foray into the OCS series by "The Gamers" I should be finishing up my first HASL game before the year is out with more coming in 2011. It was a big year to clean up my collection via the Geek, selling at fair prices many games I'll never play because of my current focus. Also looking forward to getting some monster OCS games on the table in the coming year. Update for the coming 2012 gaming season! Sold off a bunch of games, bought a bunch of games. Net/Net I still have too many games. Finally getting my Euro gaming buddies to think and play something other than Dominion. Game of Thrones actually is a new fav.Getting back into VASL with friends again and looking to branch out into other games on Vassel now. Still solo play more than I like. Gaming time and money is now split with the rebirth of my scale modeling hobby. Friend of Bill W.
