Board game nights make any board game worthwhile. Food, drink, merriment. Play to win is not a goal in my life. Pretty much any game is good so long as it doesn't rely overly on social judgment or memory. I can handle the social judgment of Apples Against Humanity, but I find such games quickly become tedious.
Game sessions, so long as everyone is participating and having a good time, make any tabletop RPG worthwhile. Food, drink, merriment. My characters run the gamut from comic relief to sadistic murderer. Ironically, my craziest, most blood-thirsty character came from an attempt to rehash a comic relief character I had with a different group.
Few video games can capture my attention for more than two weeks. I want to say I like video games, but don't ask me about any video game I've played unless you are ready for a rant.
My favorite styles of video/RPG game tend towards realism and/or simulation. I'm not a fan of wargaming (including RPG sessions which are primarily hack'n'slash).
