I want to live here
Things listed as "For Trade" are games I am trying to get out of my collection. When I figure them all out, I will probably donate them, or list them as a lot here.
In my youth I was a board game player - Star Fleet Battles, Panzer Blitz, Monopoly with my cheating parents, the usual. In college my sophomore year I was still playing games (favorite: Pentantastar) but after that I quit for a long time,
Alas, the games I let slip out of my possession! Microgames galore! TFT! For a long while I ventured into the realm of RPGs, playing AD&D and GURPS for several years.
I came back to the board gaming fold when a GURPS campaign I was in mutated into a board gaming group, many years ago. I happily played board games at least once a week. It was my Golden Age of Gaming. I discovered TGOO, and even went about recovering some of the games from my youth!
Alas, it was not to be. Moving over an hour North and having a second child has dropped my play time to nothing. I still get the games, but they are waiting until my children can play, or I can find another group.
There is hope. One morning my three year-old woke me up with "Daddy, can we play a game?" Even if I have to make the Stormtroopers in Star Wars Miniatures dance, and have Luke and Darth talk about Dora episodes, it's a start...
And an awesome start it was! I'm raising a gamer, and I had another one so we can play more than two player games.
Something seems to have gone wrong, however, since they both like party games more than anything else. While I've managed to steer some of this towards games like The Resistance and One Night Werewolf, the trend is troubling. Caylus is not hitting the family table at all.
