A note on my ratings: I use the BGG suggested guidelines
, and I have yet to find a game I want to play all the time -- I love variety
. Neither have I played anything that disgusted me to the point that I would absolutely refuse to play it under any circumstances. Thus, my ratings are all in the 3 to 8 range. I don't rate a game until I have played it at least twice in person. My ratings change frequently. In particular, if I play a game a few times in a short period of time, my rating for it may go down because I may not feel like playing it again right away.
I began logging games in January 2004, but I became more consistent about it in 2005.
As a youngster, I played a lot of games, such as Chess, Rook, Stratego, Battleship, Mastermind, and children's games. Other games that got a least a few plays each prior to the start of my logging games here include Talisman, Car Wars, Battletech, Enemy in Sight, Naval War, Fury of Dracula, and Munchkin.
only log games played in person with humans (not games played via or vs. computers). (I make exceptions for games like Merlin that are designed for solo play.)
I log shorter variants of games as full plays. I log plays of expansions as 0.1 plays.
