I am a Professor of Psychology with research interests in how personality affects work behavior. I grew up in Lake Geneva, WI and worked at TSR from early on. Although I did play in the original Greyhawk campaign, I play almost exclusively boardgames these days. I also play disc golf, but not very well and not half as often as I would like.
The games I enjoy are those with interesting decisions. Luck factors do not bother me, nor do lite games (as long as the time investment is commensurate with the depth). But anything vaguely resembling a CCG is right out. I also prefer dynamic player interaction that goes beyond denying someone opportunities.
Every week I play at Central Michigan University campus game night and once a month I drive down to the Lansing Boardgamers game day. If you are interested, just send a Geekmail and I will show you the way.
I have two kids: Duncan (age 10) and Nico (age 8). They are learning to play games, if only I could figure out how to encourage better sportsmanship...
