I've been a gamer since I can remember. Every X-mas I asked for games, but as my family members weren't into them, I found myself spending long hours staring forlornly at the box art, reading and re-reading the rulebooks and imagining what it would be like to play them (insert violins here).
By the time I was 9 or 10 I discovered TSR's Dungeon & Dragon "Choose Your Own Adventure" type novels, later Steve Jackson & Ian Livingston's Fighting Fantasy Novels and video games which filled my gaming void. I no longer had to "rely on the kindness of strangers" so to speak, to indulge in my "Gaming Fever".
Over the subsequent years I got use to buying boardgames and keeping them stashed in my closet never to see the light of
play day (insert a collective"AWWWWWWW!" here). Then in 2005 I was looking for reviews of Zombies!!! online and ended up at BGG. Not really understanding what BGG was about, it took another year and Knucklebones magazine for me to realize that there were people out there who not only bought games but actually PLAYED them and played them on a regular basis.
I found an FLGS in the Fall of 2006 that hosted a games nite every Friday and another store that has one on Monday nights.
It took a long time but I am ecstatic at rediscovering my hobby and looking forward to years of rewarding and satisfying gaming (roll credits and end music).
The HOT 10 shows my current "Need-To-Own" games.
