Board game mechanics I enjoy include auctions, prediction/deduction of other players' actions/roles, and interactive economic engines.
I generally do not care for wargames, area-control games, free-form trading/diplomatic games, games involving pre-programming of future actions, purely solitaire games, purely co-operative games, highly luck-dependent games, or party games. I'm not especially fond of abstracts, either.
I record plays only of face to face games. My Hot/Top lists are sorted in alphabetical order. My Top list is what I regard as essentials in my library. My Hot list consists of games I'd really like to play at the moment.
