I came to the board game hobby in 2008 from CCGs way back in my youth. My first euro-style games were Carcassone, Settlers, and Citadels. I admit that I now have the bug bad - I love board games!
After spending some time playing some great (and some not-so great) games, I have realized that the two things that matter to me the most in a quality boardgame experience are: a well integrated THEME!! and some level of player interaction. I don't enjoy abstracts and I don't generally enjoy multiplayer solitaire-type games (although my definition of that means may be more loose than others). I give major points for great bits and a beautiful presentation. If I'm going to be looking at it for 1+ hours, it better be pretty!
My Top 10 list are my current favorite games. My Hot 10 list are the games I currently most want to play.
I had some great times playing with a fantastic game group in Chester Co. PA. I have recently moved to the NYC metro area and I am always up to meet new gaming partners - particularly the Westchester Co. area of NY.
Oh, and I am currently going through my "Green Lantern" phase. You know how it is...
