I'm 38, discovered euro-style games via BSW in the summer of 2004. My favorite (other than party-game Attribute
) is now Thurn and Taxis
but WAS San Juan
and I won the tournament at Prezcon 2006 (even, apparently, beat some big-time WBC champ they said I could never beat).
Tournaments, however, are not my thing. It made me nervous and made the game not as much fun, because suddenly it was important to win. Maybe unlike many gamers, I don't much care if I win... and I'm not having fun if I have to worry about trying to kick butt (which I do well
I met the love of my life on BrettspielWelt. Well, we played some games on BSW then met at Prezcon in 2005 and played some more games.
In January 2006 we moved in together and in Feb 2006 we celebrated our 1 yr anniversary at Prezcon. Together we have over 500 games, though I'm not anal enough to list them all, sorry. But Boomer is.
So if you want to see everything we own just check out Boomer's profile: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/user/Boomer
We got married in Kitty Hawk, NC, on September 29th, 2007. We had a baby, named Josiah, on Dec 30, 2010.
Boomer and I play something almost every day. Whether it's Battle Line
or one of the game designs Boomer is working on, we always have a lot of fun. Luckily, I have a large family that also loves to game. Boomer and I have taught them many euros (and they have learned fast) so we never have much trouble getting a gaming event together with them around.
You may remember me from a journal entry a I wrote a few years ago about wives being jealous of their husbands playing with me on BSW. That was my introduction to BGG, and I must say, it made me think many of the people here are pretty psychotic considering the way I was attacked. But then I thought, eh, they must not have real lives... or maybe they just aren't as lucky as me, to be able to play the games they love so often.
Either way, I remember the incident and all the psychoses here fondly!
Y'all have fun now, ya hear?
