Hello, I'm a thirty-something woman in New York. LordDillon
and I have been together for eight and a half years, and we were married in July 2012.
We both had a long-standing interest in games when we met - he's a D&D player from way back, and I had some abstracts and word games. We both enjoy browsing bookstores, and one day we bought Pillars of the Earth. It was probably the showpiece of our collection at that time. We started playing my games more, and I decided I wanted to replace my copy of ZERTZ, which went missing in a move along the way. In searching for it online, we came across a listing for Agricola. Sam liked it because it was a Latin word. I was highly skeptical of a game about farming, to say the least, but in researching it, I found BGG, and well, here I am!
Since joining BGG, our collection has multiplied several times over. We both enjoy games with beautiful boards and nice wood pieces. I like building and development games, sometimes mixed with exploration. I occasionally enjoy push-your-luck games. I usually don't care for area control games. We like games where we each try out a strategy, and see which one worked best that time, under those conditions. We don't like cut-throat, confrontational, or "take-that" games.
I like trading, thrifting, and trading thrift finds. Feel free to offer something not on my wishlist if you're interested in a game I have for trade. The only guideline I'll offer is that it should play with two, otherwise I probably won't be interested.
