Did my degree in archaeology and worked as an archaeologist for several years. Spent last year doing post-graduate study in Heritage Management. Occasional work as a TV extra Viking. Back to archaeology now.
I play various instruments in various bands.
I enjoy all sorts of games- mostly get to play 2 player and solitaire games at the moment. I introduced my family to Carcassonne at Christmas 2009 and since then we play quite a lot of games together whenever I visit them. Last Christmas Archaeology: The Card Game, Citadels and Dixit went down well. My parents have been enjoying playing Caylus Magna Carta recently.
A rough timeline of some games in my life: Draughts -> Card Games -> Cluedo -> Chess -> Choose Your Own Adventure Books -> TSR Endless Quest Gamebooks -> Fighting Fantasy Gamebooks -> Lone Wolf Gamebooks -> Way of the Tiger Gamebooks -> Warlock of Firetop Mountain Boardgame -> D&D Basic Set -> Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay -(HeroQuest at friend's house)-> Pictionary -> Dungeoneer (Advanced Fighting Fantasy) -> X-Files CCG -> Arcadia CCG --(long gap)--> Carcassonne -> Settlers of Catan -> Dragonheart -> Talisman -> Chainsaw Warrior -> DungeonQuest -> Cosmic Wimpout -> Elder Sign -> Space Hulk: Death Angel -> Condottiere -> Martian Dice -> Archaeology: The Card Game -> Dixit -> Citadels -> TSCHAK! -> Race for the Galaxy -> Cuba -> Caylus Magna Carta -> Onirim -> Saboteur -> Coup ->>>
Eventually I bought a second-hand Gameboy and still enjoy playing GBC/GBA/DS games a lot (especially on bus/train journeys!) Still enjoy playing games on the Gamecube and Wii (mostly virtual console games these days) occasionally. Also, I recently found my discs for Age of Empires and Populous: The Beginning and they're still fun to play!
