Nottingham UK Gamer.
Started by mostly play 2 player games, whether they be light Euro fillers or more complex War Games is of no consequence. I'm slowly beginning to appreciate the Chit style war game and particularly love the Combat Commander series.
My view of board games is evolving. My overriding passion for game hunting has cooled since I have become increasingly satisfied with my collection yet my passion for playing is undiminished. Also my willingness for playing a long game is less and am much happier playing several mid length games.
Recently I am far more ruthless with my collection. Before I would have gladly bought a game even though the likeliness is that I would never play it. These days that does not happen - every game has to prove its worth else it is sold without prejudice.
I like Thrifting and have had some successes. I just wish the UK's Charity Shops were of the calibre of the American Thrift Stores.
My most regular gaming partner is my grilfriend. She will gladly play anything as long as it's Alhambra! To be fair she is willing with some persuasion to try anything as long as it is Competitive and not Combat-itive.
Through BGG I've found some new gaming friends in Nottingham. We play an interesting variety of games, stuff I would have never purchased myself. The environment is always lively and I can only wish that I had more time for playing.
Recently I have jointly set up a Nottinghamshire based gaming group called FANG. We have semi-regular FANGcons in a churhc hall in Nottingham, and have a regular slot every Tuesday night in Mondo Comico, a game shop in Nottingham city centre. Come join us!
I have only rated one game as a 10: Deadlands Doomtown. I rate all games according to the BGG definition and can find little logical reason to ever rate a 10. However my love for Doomtown is near mythical so it qualifies alone. Long live The Agency.
