The Evil-Do That I Do-Do
I am a free speech & privacy advocate; a recovering roller derby coach; a political dissenter; and a board game pusher.
I started getting into gaming, in my adult life, with Risk 2210, and soon afterwards discovered the world of Eurogames. After a couple of years and only a few truly memorable games, I quickly burned out on the same rehashed ideas with atrocious (a.k.a. boring) themes.
After a few years of trying a little bit of everything I think I finally know the types of games I will enjoy, and my collection has been happier since. After expanding for many years this past year I was able to not only slow the acquisition of boardgames down, but actually shrink my collection quite a bit. Pruning of the collection is almost complete. A few things that I still need to get out the door, but for the most part all I have left are games that I really like, or just love outright. Even my interest in new games has dwindled to almost nothing. So let's start playing the games we really love more often, and stop chasing the board game dragon.
