A little about me...
I grew up playing regular "run of the mill" board games and never knew I was missing out on anything. It seems all I played in the 80's was Trivial Pursuit.
In 2010, I was taking an online astronomy class for fun and the instructor was a big board game enthusiast. She introduced me to Settlers of Catan and that is when I found BGG. Wow! I had no idea such a wonderful world of games existed! I was hooked! My collection grew and I started going to a local game Meetup.
Life seemed to get in the way of playing games, so many of my games have not been played yet. I also moved into a smaller place and some games are in storage. Boo. I have only recently been organizing my living space to incorporate all my games and have regular gaming sessions or play solo games. I love introducing this world of board games to my friends as well. It is only half selfish of me. I need a regular game group and I might have to grow my own.
I love most all games, but those with a sci-fi theme instantly pique my interest! I love abstracts and dexterity games as well. I have two Crokinole boards...one to take to places and the nice one that stays at home.
I love filler games, light games, Euro and Ameritrash. The only things I don't care for are bluffing, "acting" out some role, CCG/LCG or something that you must continually buy more of. I do have some L5R stuff, but I would be happy to play with my outdated cards with somebody that feels the same.
I love learning new games(new as well as new to me), but I need a game explainer in my life!
I enjoy watching the video tutorials here and they help me tremendously!
In other realms of my life, I enjoy learning and playing music. Right now, I am learning the fiddle, banjo and mountain dulcimer. I discovered Old Time music and I am in love with it.
I also have two cats, Copernicus and Kepler.
