Work in progress...
I love games. I play games all the time, all over the place. There's always a time and a place for a boardgame!
I love having folks over to play games, arranging small gaming events, playing with kids, going to conventions, playing at work etc.
Playing games is my favorite type of social interaction. Everyone likes to play games - it's all about finding the right game,
Very abstract eurogames and historical wargames are my two favorite genres. I'm also quite fond of pure abstract games (though I'm quite bad at them). As a casual Go player my rank is 6 kyu.
Also I should mention I like science-y games. Phil Eklund
tends to rock my world. Games like that make me feel smarter than I actually am.
Oh, and I follow BGG guidelines whem rating games. Everyone should! Stuff I don't like
Computer/video games. With the exception of a casual MarioKart race, electronic games usually bore me after a few minutes.
Don't like cardgames very much. Occasionally I enjoy the odd CDG wargame, but usually cards don't rock my world.
Not very keen on Ameritrash either. Plastic figures, wandering about, collecting stuff, killing monsters, repeat ad nauseam...
RPGs. Played a lot in my youth. Find them utterly pointless as an adult.
