Well here it is, my first game giveaway in my review series. I have an extra copy of Alien Frontiers aside from the one in my collection, and I figured what better way to streamline my collection then to give it away to someone here on BGG who watches my reviews! However, I'm not simply going to let you enter THAT easily. We are going to do a "three truths and a lie" contest, in which I will give you three statements and YOU must deduce which one the LIE is. All of those who guess correctly (no editing your posts, edited posts will not be included) will be entered into a drawing. I will leave this contest open for 1 week, closing at 11:59PM on Saturday Nov. 26th CST. I will do the drawing the next day, and announce the winner. Winner will need to get in touch with me to arrange shipping (I will pay shipping within the US, for International Shipping I will pay local US shipping costs and the rest will be paid by the winner).

Alright, lets get to it. Three truths and a lie, all gaming related!

1. The first "REAL" board game I played, getting me into the hobby, was Cosmic Encounter.

2. I have helped coordinate several conventions around the local Wisconsin/Illinois region.

3. I lose 90% of games the first time I play them.

4. I helped design the rules layout for at least one Reiner Knizia game.

Please post your answer as a comment on this video. If you KNOW your answer is correct, please do not state that you are sure it is correct, nor HOW you know. Please just provide an answer and leave the fun to everyone else.

Good Luck!

OK contest was closed 41 minutes ago...but thats ok, there were no entries in that time! Thanks to everyone for entering. We had approximately 330 individual entries. Of those, only 23 people got the answer correct! Thats only 6.9%, over 18% below the 25% expect if people answered randomly!

Thats right, for all of you playing along at home, the correct answer is:

Here are the explanations for all of the statements:

Absolutely 100% true. While walking through a mall with my family I stumbled upon Cosmic Encounter in a game store in Milwaukee, WI. We asked for a suggestion for a game to play, and they told us we could sit down and play one if we liked. They suggested Cosmic Encounter, taught us to play, and the rest is history. (FYI this was just over 2 years ago...I'm a newbie board gamer!)

Oooooh this one was a little tricky. I've been to TONS of local conventions, I've run games, I've demoed, but I've NEVER been involved in the planning of a convention in the Wisconsin/Illinois region (or anywhere else for that matter). Great job to everyone who guessed this one (All 23 of you)!

Well, I play a LOT of games...and I lose a LOT of games. This number is accurate, mostly because of the fact that I play with my girlfriend, Andrea, most of the time on my first plays. She, unfortunately for me, is a far better gamer than I am (until I learn a game). The rest are with my gaming group, which Andrea is a part of, and thus still results in me losing! The statistic was given by Andrea, so as to not be an unrealistic inflation of my REAL losing statistics. TRUE!

Another very tricky one, but another one which is 100% TRUE. The game, while not in the BGG database, is indeed a Knizia game. The trick here was I never said it was a board game. The game happens to be an iOS game, Teocalli, designed by Dr. Knizia himself, and implemented by a friend of mine for iOS. When it came to templating the rules, I helped with that process, designing the "layout". Sorry folks, this one is True.

Now that I've given the explanation, lets take a look at the names of the users who got it correct! Here they are:
