Yes, the card upgrade is scheduled in all versions where the previous edition was also released (German, Spanish, Italian)....
As for an upgrade with cards+rules+gameboard (+counters, as you would need the army replacement).... well, the only other items remaining are the figures and dice!
So you'd not be saving a lot against selling your 1st edition and buying 2nd edition (actually, you'd probably be spending more...)
Other than the map it looks more like a reprint- tho from this video I didn't get a good sense about the map art changes.
I think I will pass, at least for the time being.
There are some updates to the rules, Event card text (actual changes not just errata), and Character rules which make the second edition much more balanced.
Just a question... How to get that box with decks? I've heard there are also similar cards of the CE and (that's the thing I'm in need to have) there are sleeves for all cards that are also compatible with the CE. I live in italy, but can't figure how to reach that site who is seller of that metal box.
Note: I'm at work, excuse me for any errors in writing... Lol...
Thanks Veldrin to for your kind answer, luckily in the website I found a way to call for more info and eventually order that box (store seems based here in Italy).
So you bought 2nd edition and on top of that the upgrade kit? Why? Only for the box? Do you have every card double now?
Nope, they were a gift from the designer as thank you for helping out in the playtesting and much more surrounding the game.
If you check out the Ares' site ( www.aresgames.eu) you will see there are some strategy articles coming for the game, I am the one writing those articles.
After your game was delivered at work did you break it out and teach everyone how to play
Thanks for sharing!
Unfortunately no, but I opened it in our "lobby/café/study" area, and got much attention. Some students (they are 16-19) were interested and sent Santa Claus a text message with an updated wishing list!
Amazing how they didn't use different colors or bases for the different factions. That was the biggest complaint about the 1st edition. It appears they weren't as interested in quality as they were in cost cutting. A lackluster showing. Very disappointing.

Roberto has explained (several times) that individual colors for each nation had brought the MSRP to over $100. Not something a publisher wants.
