For more of my reviews, check out this link:

My reviews - an UndeadViking's quest to rate every game in his collection

For those of you who want to have a cool UndeadViking microbadge (I think there were like 4 of you) you can find those here..

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/microbadge/20830

You can also find more of my videos, and a whole bunch of videos by some guy named Jeremy (you may have heard of him) at this awesome website:

www.drakkenstrikevideos.com

Also – if you think I should review a game, let me know! And if you happen to be a publisher or a designer of a game you think I should be aware of, let me know that as well! You can either send me a Geekmail here on the website, or shoot me an email at undeadvikingvideos@gmail.com.

Thanks for watching!

Intro - 0:00 to 1:12
Gameplay - 1:12 to 7:40
Conclusion - 7:40 to 13:15

As a final note, and this goes for any review you may read or watch, not just mine, if you decide to buy a game because of a review, please take a couple of minutes to email the publisher to let them know about the reviewer and the good work they are doing. Give them the link to the review that pushed you into your purchase, and tell them what you liked about it. I, as well as the rest of the board game reviewers on BGG, would appreciate it greatly. Thanks again for watching!

You will see it next week...or maybe the next. Depends on how this weekend shakes out. Feel free to guess...maybe if someone gets it right I will give them some geek gold or something.

This is why I kind of dislike the filler type of games. They always tend to click too well with the people I play most frequently with, preventing real games to hit the table.
Guess I should think of myself as rather lucky to even considered that to be a problem.

As for the euro cube pushing thing I guess it to be...
Constantinopolis!

...or maybe Fresco?

Indeed you did - and not too long ago. Must have missed it.
Not that many other candidates that come to mind fitting the above brief description: Cargo Noir has no cubes and doesn't sound all that captivating. Have you discovered the Ports of Europe (Amsterdam & Rotterdam), got hold of an advance copy of the new edition of Goa, or perhaps tried Constantinopolis?
(Just saw, someone beat me to the punch on the last one)
As you can see, I like these sort of guessing games.
Looking forward to the review, whatever it turns out to be.
best

Do you think that cutting the deck and only using half of it could make the game a more reasonable length? Perhaps even including all the liar cards and just half of the rest of them could make the fun liar part more prevalent...

I WISH I have gotten a hold of an advance copy of Goa...

Game has not been guessed yet, though all have been good guesses.

Probably, but then it might be too quick.

The designer of the game actually suggested a variant to me after watching the movie. He said if you instituted the option of discarding cards from your scoring pile and then collecting cards from the draw deck on a 1 per coin value (the scoring number on the bottom right) it would allow people to burn through the draw deck quicker. I plan on giving that option a try this weekend when I will undoubtedly play the game once again...

Good guesses on the game, though I should do review of both of those they are not "it".

As far the filler game goes, I know your problem. I finally had to sell my copy of Mag-Blast away or else that would have been the only game several of my group would ask to play.

Right, I too decided to wait until the 2nd ed. before adding Goa to my collection after the handsome job filosofia did on Genua.

Another guess? Shipyard
Euro? check Newish? check Meaty? definitely Shipping? literally Cube pushing? Well, the many tokens aren't actually cubic...
Perhaps Endeavor?
(El Capitan would fit part of the bill but I would not call it meaty, more of a math problem, though a very pretty one)

Unless, of course, by 'shipping' you refer to the mechanic, which might include rail games etc.; but that opens too wide a range for me to even attempt an educated guess.

yours speculatively
M

My guesses are Merchants of the Middle Ages, Norenberc, or MERKATOR. If I recall, Drakkenstrike didn't like the latter too much. I think you might like it a little more. It is dry, so it does qualify based on your clues...

This looked like a fun little game. After seeing your review I dropped by the local game store and they had one copy so I scooped it up. My older boy loves this game and thinks its a hoot. Have not played it with the gaming group yet but it is a fun quick game.
