Players get together to win a Mox Emerald in a local Grand Prix Trial: Providence at Yottaquest. The format was Legacy in which players love to play but have a problem getting over the prices of cards.

Haha!

Fun to watch, though. I have not played Magic in quite a while.

This video makes me REALLY regret selling my cards ~7 years ago. I had about 15 dual lands, a playset of FOW, complete sets of 4-5 expansions/revised, 3-4 binders full of rares, 2 big boxes (~5k) full of uncommons... pretty much everything you might want for standard/extended circa 2000. I had ebayed some cards individually in the past as they rotated out, but being busy with wife and new baby, and needing space, I just wanted to get rid of it all. So I let some store take my entire collection for a gross pittance, like $800 or something farcical. I knew it was worth twice that, but I didn't know it would be worth 5x or 10x that in 2011.

yuk angry cry

Yep -- I just sold all of my cards in the last year -- a full set of Power 9 + duals, Mana Drains, LoA, etc. I mean a really big and great set of cards -- about $10,000 altogether. I would imagine that is about what I paid for all of my cards over the years, maybe a bit more. Insane prices to be competitive in Vintage, and now, even Legacy environments.
