Cool video! Hope to run into at some point there!
I will be in the Exhibit Hall most of the Daytime....and after 5PM I will be in the Board Game Room with my Indy Gamer Group helping to monitor the Room
I really liked the CON pics, I hadn't seen much of the Con. We don't have anything on that scale downunder. GenCon Aus last year was canceled and in 2012 it seems CanCon/Age (our biggest Con) is in for a change. I don't know what your plans are for GenCon in terms of videos, I assume you will be playing a ton of games and may be busy but I'd love to see a vid that covers GenCon itself. I hear about it all the time on Podcasts but I'd love to see a "review" on one of these American Cons. Anyway that's my 2 cents.

Great stuff.
James - I believe Stephen Conway of The Spiel will be taking video of Gencon this year with some nifty equipment. You might want to check with him and verify.
There are a lot of really interesting games there. Personally I am really looking forward to Rune Age and Elder Sign. Co-Op and Interactive/Combative deck building with a solitaire option, yes please! Co-Op Strategic dice rolling also with a solitaire option, yeah I like that. So many games so little play time. I can see why people get huge unplayed collections. If you bought everything that looked fun you would need 36 hour days. And still end up destitute.
I have to say, fantastic vieo. A couple upsets though in my eyes.
Gosu: Kamakor is one of my most anxiously anticipated expansions for this year and easily a "tier 1" for me.
Also, Space Empires 4x. Anything that can come close to Twilight Imperium in scope and depth is always a must buy for me.
Another that stands out to me is NightFall: Blood Country. I am just getting into the NightFall lineup, and so far, I have VERY intrigued. This game looks to add quite a bit.
And finally , I just wanted to say thank you so much for doing this video. Gencon is currently one of those unattainable conventions for me, since I live on the other side of the country. I very much appreciate any coverage I can get from such a monumental event. As always, keep up the amazing work, and maybe one day, I will see you there.

Thank you James !!
I am not sure what I am going to do Video wise this year at the Convention, I do know that I will be shooting some video though to use for various purposes. How I put it together though and showcase it is still up in the air though.
Like I mentioned, these are but a small sampling of the games that I am interested in at the Convention....these are certainly not all of the games on the Show Floor though.
In regards to Claustrophobia: De Profundis, I no longer own the original as I replaced it with other 2 player games of this type that I enjoyed more.
There are another 4-5 games that I know will be shown at GenCon in some capacity that I didn't focus on in the Video, either because I didn't have the proper artwork for it, or that I wasn't allowed to mention it yet.
As usual, excellent video. You are amazing in how many of these you put together and yet maintain (actually improve) your high quality. Really amazing work.
However very few games I'd be even interested in trying - maybe 5 at most. Too many fantasy, dungeon crawlers, cooperative games for me. That's good news - won't be spending much money this year!
You always pick such good music, Jeremy. Where did you get the music for this video?
I used a variety of sources, but I get most my music from Amazon.com. I can spend hours there listening until I find the right ones I like.
Here are the names of the Songs !!
Undying Love Age of War (From the 1st Call of Duty Trailer) Kingdom of Avilion Imperatrix Mundi
I have to agree with copax! You always choose the right kind of music for your reviews. Sometimes when added with the excellent camera handling and the other stuff you do I just get the goosebumps. It is always a pleasure to watch your videos, even if the game itself is not much of interest for me personally. And there is times a game I had no interest in prior to your review ends up to a must have after watching it...
Looks like I'll have to be the one negative voice in this discussion and say that I was disappointed there was not any context given for why these games were on the list. A few sentences about the designer or why the theme has caught your eye or something.
I suppose the up shot would be to say that I am only disappointed because your videos always has such well written, insightful comments on games.

That video alone took about 25 hours to make. And I couldn't have fit commentary into without distilling the process, or making it choppy. I wanted to keep it under 8 Minutes....and if I started adding my voice, my thoughts about the game would be so quick and forced that it would have killed the pace.
I will leave all the commentary to the actual Reviews when I decide which ones I wish to cover.
That was outstanding sir. I miss Gen Con a lot and many of the games you noted look to be fantastic. I can't wait to hear about them. I was going to name some but you presented so many I am interested in I have no clue which to list
Yog-Sothoth knows the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the key and guardian of the gate. Past, present, future, all are one in Yog-Sothoth. He knows where the Old Ones broke through of old, and where They shall break through again.
The music reminds me of that by Two Steps from Hell.

Think you might ever make it to GenCon Indy?
I'll be keen to see whatever you do with the footage that's for sure. I wish I could say one day I'll make it to GenCon Indy, I was talking to the blokes at work just the other day how much I want to see the U.S.A. Truth be told I'm 27 and still have not been on a plane, it's good to have goals though and If I did go to the U.S it'd be around GenCon season.
ahh....I love the smell of a stack of sketchily placed animals in the morning!

I am sure there are people that would put you up and game with you in the states..if you ever made it! Pay for your plane ticket, however?..if you could pay in GG you might already have been here!
Man I'm glad this popped up in my subscription again. Was "Outside the scope..." really the only place for this? I tried to find it yesterday but was unable to. Maybe you could at least link a blog post to it?

Unfortunately yes.....there isn't anywhere on BGG for us to post Video's of this style other than this category.

As you mentioned, there are going to be many many other new releases during the convention. However, I am surprised at the absense of Flying Frog Production's Fortune and Glory: The Cliffhanger Game from your list.
That is one of three games I intend to pickup the minute the exhibit hall opens on Thursday.
The other two are Ninjato and Quarriors, thanks to your terrific components breakdown videos of both.
Due to limited quantities of each of those games being available at the show, I now have to figure out how to clone myself multiple times so I can be at FFP, WizKids and Z-Man's booths simultaneously.

Well, Fortune and Glory IS on my list....I just forgot to put it in the video....BIG oversight on my part.
Argh, I should have you pay ME for putting up videos like this (anyone know Wallet CPR?)
Thanks for the heads up on a lot of games I would not have looked at. I'll be eagerly awaiting any HD Components reviews of the games you do end up picking up
Do you know for sure that Super Dungeon Explore will be sold at the con? Love the Japanese art work on that. Do you know what booth will be selling this?
I like how you had different Tiers as well. Lots of stuff I have not heard of yet, so I look forward to checking them out.

Thanks again for the cool vid, G
90% sure it will be there....not sure which booth it's at though yet.

Super Dungeon Explore was reported to be delayed.

I've been following SDE's development on their Facebook page and sadly they just acknowledged that the game will not be on sale at GenCon, though they had hoped to do so. They are only pre-selling the game there. That means for the rest of us a solid date(or even month) of the game's arrival in stores and online is out of reach. Too bad, there has been some speculation of GenCon release with the gaming being sold at retailers in the weeks that followed...now it's sadly up in the air.
