Notes on converting Age of Steam maps for use with Steam.
When 6 of us wanted to try Steam Base rules we decided not to use one of the Steam maps but attempt to adapt an Age of Steam map and decided on Southern England. We seeded the map with 3 cubes per city and removed the red new city tile, we didn't come up with a rule to handle red cubes in London. This spur of the moment adaptation wasn't entirely successful as we ran very short of cubes towards the end of the game (we also ran short of basic straight and curve tiles in the last 2 turns). The consensus of opinion was that the game should have been one turn shorter. Though more initial cubes might have helped.
