About the BoardGameGeek Wiki

This wiki exists in conjunction with the BoardGameGeek database. Using Wiki Formatting, you can link to database content including games, forums and GeekLists. On each game page, the "Description" section is a wiki page named game:GAMEID. See the Game Description Guidelines for what kind of content should and should not be included on these pages.

Generally, the Wiki is open to content of all types, however certain kinds of content lend themselves better to other areas of BGG. Specifically, discussions, questions, strategy articles and the like belong in the Forums. Lists of games, especially with personal commentary and the like, should be GeekLists. Informational lists (eg, lists of game "sets", such as the Alea big box series) would be good wiki pages. Images should be submitted and approved through the standard game Image submissions. The wiki is not meant to be a way to circumvent GeekMod. Links to outside sites should generally be submitted as Game links or in the Forums.

The wiki is especially well suited for site and community documentation as well as organization of information about a particular topic that is spread throughout the Geek. See the Wiki Content Highlights for a list and discussion of highlighted content.
