Description Edit | History

Årets Spel (Game of the Year) is a Swedish gaming industry award. From 1984 to 2002 it was given to the best Family Game and the best Children's Game, except 1991 when no Children's Game was awarded. From 2003 and onward an award has also been given to the best Adult Game.

It has a symbol of a golden die, and the award is called Guldtärningen (The Golden Die). The jury is selected by Lek- och Babybranschen (The Toy and Baby Industry) in Sweden. The physical award object is a huge wooden die (approx. 12x3 cm; 4.7x1.18 in) with goldish pips, mounted on a wooden block.
