Description Edit | History

Les Trois Lys (the "Three Lilies") is an award given by the Québec Association for Board Games Promotion. The award was created in 2009. The jury of the association gives an award in three different categories for a game that is available in the Québec province, and published in French:

  • "Lys Enfant" (Kids Lily): A game for players of 7 years or less. The game must be simple, easy to understand, clear and with a game length of 30 minutes max.
  • "Lys Grand Public" (General Audience Lily): A game for players of 8 years or more. The game must be simple and easy to understand for a large audience, and game length must not go beyond 90 minutes. The overall quality, the illustrations and the text that appear on the game are important for the selection of the winner.
  • "Lys Passionné" (Hobbyist Lily): A complex game for 10-years-old and up. The game must encourage tactical or strategic thinking. The overall quality of the game and its components are other important criteria.
