Boonlake
Board Game: Boonlake
(Craig, Duston and Scott) (3P) - DJ Craig started this off with ...Rush?! I'm afraid no matter how I try I'm not a fan of Rush so Craig was nice and switched to a more appropriate theme of Country with All My Exes Live in Texas and Johnny Cash's humorous-One Piece at a Time. Final thoughts- Craig liked the decisions, Dustin said he thought he liked it better then Great Western Trail as it flowed smoother. I was finally able to plan and relax so I didn't have to monitor them and made a good plan.
At least that's what I thought I was doing but it was a bad plan and I was way in the back. Dustin and I started about the same and were neck and neck but my lack of buying cards and levers at the wrong time really hurt. I had fun but I sucked at it

Influentia
Board Game: Influentia
(Evan, Craig, Felix and Scott) (4P) - A unique trick taking, set collection game with a lot going on and a little "take that!" I played quick but I just couldn't keep track of it all. Afraid I waited too long and forgot everything but I'm going to guess Craig won as we stole a lot from Evan as he was running away with it from the start. Just too much going on for me to be able to enjoy the strategy. Not bad but not on my buy list.

Mille Fiori
Board Game: Mille Fiori
(Evan, Craig, Felix and Scott) (4P) - Newer Knizia point salad. I had waaaay underestimate the points for early items on the shipping goods and was almost lapped Felix. I tried to get fancy up at the top with magic but they saw those points and the turn order was huge and had to watch them fly away from me cry Felix-233\ Evan-212 \Craig-202 \Scott-186

The Quest for El Dorado
Board Game: The Quest for El Dorado
(Evan-Mr. T, Craig-Oscar the Grouch, Felix-Wil E. Coyote and Scott-Taylor Swift) (4P) - Craig had picked up a Taylor Swift mini fig! I'm a huge fan so had to get a Quest race in. I chose the same map we ran last time as I really loved the design choke points it is super mean. Craig was first to the Hero Bar with Felix right behind him. Mr. T bypassed it which I think would guarantee he would lose on this long trip... except when I went in to go the Bar stupid Coyote decided to run back and block the way in so we just stood there and looked at each other for 3 turns grrrrrr Craig was slowed way down by the water. I'm not sure what happened but I got the the Hero Bar and got the perfect hero for this map that let me choose 3 water/forest and this map had a lot of that. I had trimmed 6 cards out of my deck so it was lean but Mr. T had a head start after 3 turns doing nothing but I just had to "Shake it Off!" I kept getting lucky with the curses not hurting me it was almost like they were a "Blank Space." Mr. T was 1 step away from winning and couldn't make it in so we thought we had a chance. Then stupid F$#@n Oscar triggered a curse that let everyone else move so Mr. T got the idol for the win a feeling I know "All Too Well." I'll get him next time as there is nothing I do "Better than Revenge!" I know I know I "Need to Calm Down." "*"all Taylor Swift songs

Biosphere
Board Game: Biosphere
(Evan, Craig, Felix and Scott) (4P) - My favorite dice game were you don't ever roll the dice It's all about achieving goals to win the game. Everyone got a good start except Evan, I told him he might want to spread out more but he insisted on putting all his little dudes in a corner and then soon they just about died out. I had planned some stuff and took care of a tougher goal early and was on track to win in 2 turns right after I had 4 tiles repopulate and get me two goals at once with 10 animals added and all the squares in a 2x2 occupied but wtf Felix runs a creepy small hooved camel over to occupy one spot with his last move just ruining my plans so badcry cry cry I whined like a little b@$# for about 10 minutes Felix won with Craig and I not to far back and Evan I don't think even completed 1 goal.

Gutenberg
Board Game: Gutenberg
(Craig, Jeremy, Bob and Scott) (4P) - I haven't seen Bob Day Bob in a while so it was good to get some games in with him. This was my second try at this game. We learned a few rules we were initially taught were wrong (we were first told we couldn't replace the center gear). Bob had only played it solo so was happy to have real opponents. Everyone was pretty close together but the last two rounds I had drafted larger words and everyone else was putting on 2-3 words to my 1 so I fell behind even though I got me more points per word (Craig-116/ Jeremy-102/ Scott-93/ Bob-92)

Sumatra
Board Game: Sumatra
(Craig, Jeremy, Bob and Scott) (4P) - A new Knizia set collector so usually worth checking out. It was a raw rules read so initially I thought this was a horrible game but after some bitching Craig went back and reread the stuff he glanced over and found some details that made it interesting. I'm not going to fault him as any raw rules read at the table is rough. I monopolized GPS and Satellite Signal tiles as they did stuff in tandem and I could see there was a shortage for a while. I got too greedy with the big green tile and thought there would be more volcano tiles then there were and got knocked down a few points when others grabbed the higher point value by having 9 different types. I totally forgot the final score but I think Bob smoked us with lots of gear of the same type with volcanos. Volcanos are dangerous because if you don't have enough gear (3) they are -5vp instead of +5vp. Interesting game I'll have to play it again.

Boonlake
Board Game: Boonlake
(Shrey, Kevin, Martin G. and Scott)(4P) - I wasn't sure it would be super long with 4 players but yup this game is just too long at 4 player especially when they are learning it for the 1st time. It was my first time teaching the full rules and discovered some that I had missed along the way (nothing too major but still a surprise). The teach took a full half hour as there are a few fiddly exception and what not but they all seem to understand it except for cattle scoring. I told them 3 times how it works (one with a visual example) and none of them got it till about the 3rd sample and demo (they were all smart players) it's just not organic for them to figure out. I spent all my time making sure they didn't do anything wrong and saved them from hurting themselves by expending more they they should for things but at the expense of having a good any strategy Martin pressed down on the income tracks on the board (money & cards) at every chance. He did good and had a 20 point last turn but it wasn't enough to keep up with Kevin's more balanced approach and working the sell a vase lever all the time he could for $6 cash. I tried lots of cows but got sidetracked as they all kept putting down tiles so I couldn't use it properly with my lever to get extra stuff, s#@&$zer. Shrey did the smartest move near the end by noticing there was a 10vp spot on the board to put his rancher and paid the money were I totally missed it and spent $16 for a 3 income push (netting 5vp). Not an easy teach. Good teacher certificate earned (aka last place) Keven-176/ Martin-165/ Shrey-163/ Scott-129.

Mexican Train
Board Game: Mexican Train
(Dad, sister and me) (3P) - A Christmas tradition, oh this is not a good game but it makes them happy to play and brings back very pleasant memories of mom who absolutely loved this game. I came close a few times but dad and my sister beat me. I had fun but still not a big fan of the game as it is pretty luck dependent.

Illusion
Board Game: Illusion
(Dad, sister and me) (3P) - The perfect game for a quick filler with any level of gamer. It's just great the way it messes with everybody's mind. My sister correctly guessed which card was off waaaay more then I thought she would as she was the only one there that didn't paint. She won 2 times in a row so I have to begrudgingly give her props, oh it hurts when it's your older sister

Deep Sea Adventure
Board Game: Deep Sea Adventure
(Evan, Craig, Leann, Mike and Scott) (5P) - Craig broke out his special Sponge Bob edition I could feel I was going to win this time, I took Sponge Bob himself. It started great I got to the next level of coins and turned around early it was almost a guarantee I would have a great head start. Leann got 3 coins back and I had the misfortune of rolling 3 double 1s in a row producing uncontrollable shoedenfraud and I was unable to get out being one of the first to turn around cry No big deal I can make it up but people were greedy as f$@% and I couldn't roll higher then a total of 3 all game, it was bad but I finally made it back by the end of the game with 2 coins and they scored big time and got me to like 3rd place

Boonlake
Board Game: Boonlake
(3P) - (Evan, Craig and Scott)
I ordered this a while back and it finally arrived right before I had to leave on vacation but I finally got to playing it now that I'm back. We are building up the area around Boonlake (there is no lake but there is plenty of rivers but that might be to close to a copyrighted song BoonRiver, wider then a mile, I'm crossing you in style...). We are trying to get the most points by doing lot's of different things like buying a lock and then being able to use it once every phase (there are 4 of them) for bonus stuff. There are 7 actions to choose from and then you do the main action and everyone can do the right action (except one tile) so it keeps people interested in what you choose. My biggest challenge was trying to keep Evan from making up rules, we would ask him something and he would say of course it works like this a little too confidently, my experience if he is ever that confident he is making s@#$t up. So with a concerted effort of listen but verify I think we played mostly correct!

We pretty much chose end goals at random as we didn't have any idea how they worked at the time of selection but figured we would just start and figure it on the way I put out stuff that gave me a discount on buying locks so tried to get a bunch. Evan went headfirst into an all cow strategy and Craig did a little of everything. Everyone is trying to clear their player area out by putting stuff on the map in key locations. It's a very cow centric economy as houses get you gold when cows placed next to them and cities get you VP for cows. The scoring goals that could net you a few vp but seemed insignificant to worry about them too much as we all broke 200 playing like idiots so don't sweat them too much like I did. Evan noticed the VP lock and rang that bell 3 times for a bunch of extra points, I got there but only did it once as it is really expensive. There are hefty points of salads to be had in map, cards, goals and more that I can't remember. Evan really enjoyed it, I liked it but was a little confused my first play so my rating my fluctuate with more plays. Evan-241/ Craig-238/ Scott-211

Dragon Land
Board Game: Dragon Land
(Evan, Craig and Scott) (3P) - A straight up set collection game were you have 4 gem colors. For each set of 3 different colors and an egg it's worth 10 points, if you don't have a set it's 1 point each. You have three different pawns and they can only pick up wild gems (clear) or gems of their matching color, eggs or special action token. I zoomed in and got some stuff before Craig did and got some well deserved expletives. Craig almost ended with a really bad score but Evan pointed out he didn't have the rubber ring on his pawn and if you don't have the pawn condom all the gems of that color don't count in the end. Evan won with 60 something and I had 55, Craig wasn't too far behind.

Just One
Board Game: Just One
(5P) - We got off to a horrible start and went 0-3 were I had to rib Leann about her clue Todd to try and get Craig to guess the word Fox. Anyone have any guesses how those were connected? We were looking at each other and going WTF. I usually don't rib people too much but Leann was giving clues so off the wall I had to talk a little smack, don't worry she gives it right back

Exhibition: 20th Century
Board Game: Exhibition: 20th Century
(Aaron, Craig, Jeremy and Scott) (4P) - Jeremy wanted to play this fun filler again. This time we were caught off guard with Craig having read "all" the rules this time and sprung a new one on us that we couldn't have the same matching color in any section. Oh man this was hard and it just got 4 times harder. We played with an optional board that we had to play cards in the same decade instead of continent, oh that's not easy. Jeremy was the only one to be able to fill his board and accordingly 1st place with like 20. I think I got 2nd with 15, followed by Craig and Aaron realized his many mistakes about 3 turns too late but it was his first game. Cool filler game that makes you think 3 or 4 turns ahead to have it destroyed by some idiot (cough...cough...Craig...).

The Quest for El Dorado & The Quest for El Dorado: Heroes & Hexes
Board Game: The Quest for El Dorado
Board Game: The Quest for El Dorado: Heroes & Hexes
(Aaron-70s Freddie Mercury, Craig-Steamboat Willie Mickey, Jeremy- Edward Scissor Hands and Scott-Predator) (4P) - I got to start last so figured I would have a rough go of it especially when Aaron's first mountain pull was something that let him move into an empty mountain space and with this map it was super important because the path to the Hero Bars is super rough. Lucky for me everyone else just had to buy for their first move so I got ahead of everyone and made it to the "trash 3 cards" space first were a super bottleneck is. Aaron was already at the Hero Bar and I came in shortly after but poor Jeremy was behind Craig and he was just having the worst draws. Jeremy had to wait for Craig to clear the area then got a card to pass through the mountains legit. Jeremy was way in the back and I got the move 3 1-space guy and got ahead of everyone else. Aaron then took a surprise shortcut and was leading but hung up on high cost forest pocket. I got back in the lead and Jeremy was waaaaay back there I didn't think we would ever see him on the same tile again - I was wrong. I had to take 3 curses and just when I thought I would jump way out in front Craig reminded me I had curses and couldn't do that, oh man it sucked paying my comeuppance. Craig and Aaron had got ahead of me but I took a chance and paid off my curse dept and took another one and got to the last tile to use my Power Paddle (6 water strength one shot) and got 2 spaces from the end. Aaron got 1 space from the end but didn't have a forest to get in the endzone. We threw in an extra barrier this time before the end spot to add some drama so Aaron left it (discard 2 cards before you can play a card) for me. There was only 1 card that could get me to there and for the first time in a long time I drew it and made it to the final spot for the win, c'mon who can beat the Predator?! Oh it should be mentioned Mickey should have beat the Predator but he drew 3 curse tokens that had Jeremy move Craig back 2 spaces each so he lost 6 movement which would have totally put him in the zone a turn earlier but that's whatcha get tempting fate! devil

Stick 'Em
Board Game: Stick 'Em
(Aaron, Craig, Jeremy and Scott) (4P) - This was a very surreal experience playing this with super happy Christmas music going in the background. It's probably one of the meanest trick takers out there but in a fun way. Every suit but the one led is trump and you don't have to follow and play what you want, first in wins ties. The trick is at the start of the hand you pick a pain suit secretly and turn it face up so any cards you take in that color will be negative points and any other card is worth +1vp. Aaron was to my left but was petrified to win anything which was really bad for my game because I need him to lead to get rid of some cards that will destroy me if left to last so I had to set him up with softballs and assure him it's good to take positive points. Jeremy was unstoppable and we were all playing pretty nice... until the last hand Jeremy looked like a sure winner as he started the round 44 points and the next closest was Craig at 29. Meet a friend called Hubris. We see Jeremy play a 4 first thing in his pain suit so he had to assume his other cards were larger so we went fishing and wow did we catch a big one. Jeremy played a 6 and we all ducked. Next he inexplicably lead an 8 in his pain suit rightfully assuming one of us was out of his color (me). Let's talk about zeros in off suit they count for nothing and I happened to have one of those and ducked with Aaron throwing on a 7 and Craig something else. We started to hear those sweet angelic Christmas words you all are F^%$#@ers, Santa came early. Craig-44/ Scott-24/ Jeremy-19/ Aaron-13

Le Havre
Board Game: Le Havre
(Craig, Jeremy and Scott) (3P) - No one remembered how to play but it came back to us. Craig put in some expansion buildings so I noticed right away there was no court to take care of my loans so I tried not to go in debt. I was staring at the buildings and something wasn't right then it came to me there should be 2 Warfs so we went through all the cards twice and it wasn't there... It had stuck to one of the cards out in the pile, my bad as I put those out. I blew the last turn by not noting what buildings Jeremy had and missed getting a 38 point luxury liner and lost by 4 points lol. I dominated the ships and they responded by not getting ships which I assumed was pure food maker so I had to make up for it with other goods. We had some fun with Craig and used his free construction building all game and not giving a flying frank

Chariot Race
Board Game: Chariot Race
(Derek, Evan, Craig, Felix, Shrey and Scott) (6P) - We were looking for a quick game as Felix had another 1/2 hour so I set this up but by the time it was all set up Felix was there and it went to 6 so why not? We played the asynchronous player sides so we were all different. Shrey got out front which meant I was 2nd which immediately made me a chew toy for everyone else so I dropped some spikes behind me to try and cover myself. They came after me anyhow and rammed me, speared me, etc... but I had a bunch of fortune and healed up and zipped through the outside and dropped more spike to keep them off me. People were taking all sorts of damage to keep up so I didn't know what was going to happen but it probably wasn't going to be pretty. Shrey was looking good and in the lead but had blown through his fortune (dice manipulation) and ran straight into a rock shocking us all with his early exit. Evan took the lead and was on lap 2 but... he only had 2HP left but looked like he was going 1st and would heal up 3HP and would be safe again but Derek was in the spirit of the race and took a bit of damage to ram him and take him out *everybody dance* Craig was waaay in the back and staying healthy and then did some crazy sh*t and took 8 damage but was back in the race. Pretty soon 4 of us were road kill and out of the race. I think Derek won but great fun was had.

Poison
Board Game: Friday the 13th
(Derek, Evan, Craig, Felix, Shrey and Scott) (6P) - A Knizia press your luck, throw a card in each round in one of three piles if the total is over 13 you keep everything in that pile and it counts against you unless you have the most of that color so there are some options. Usually there are some options but being on Shrey's left seemed to leave me with 3 piles of 13 all the time so I would end up eating a ridiculous number of points at the end causing much laughter amongst anyone not named Scott. I don't take it too seriously as it can be a total luck-fest. Shrey-4/ Derek-9/ Felix-12/ Craig-14/ Evan-19/ Scott-33

Reapers
Board Game: Reapers
(Felix, Evan and Scott) (3P) - Felix worked hard to get this trick taker from the author so I was happy to play it again. It's a drafting, trick-taking game. I learned my lesson last time and just bid the wimpy bid that got me 4 points each round regardless of what else I did. Last time I tried for last and 2nd and got nothing and 2nd is so hard to get it should be worth more points as I think experienced players will just ignore it but I still like the flow of the game. Evan always came in last and cheated himself out of at least 32 points by choosing the wrong goal card . Scott-86/ Felix-85/ Evan- 68.

Agricola (Revised Edition) Agricola: The Legen*dairy Forest-Deck
Board Game: Agricola (Revised Edition)
Board Game: Agricola: The Legen*dairy Forest-Deck
(Felix, Evan and Scott) (3P) - I had an unopened deck I had got some place I can't remember like 10 years ago stuffed in there that Evan wanted to look at and insisted we play with it. I'm just so happy to get this played as there is always a curmudgeon in the group that refuses so I've been trying to get it played for years so whatever it took I would put up with to get it played... Little did I know what I was in for. The Legen*dairy deck was activated if you went to an accumulate wood spot that had 3 or more wood there. So Felix goes there gets 3 wood and Camelot which was a room that would hold a family member and one of every animal type... for f*cking free. I was going WTF this is a 2-3 hour heavily strategic engine building game and this... on top of that Felix tried to tell me it was a bad thing because it doesn't count toward the final score, sigh... So I went next turn and got essentially nothing oh .... my ...@$@% Evan got the next card from that deck and gets a free oven along with this wood. To his credit he offered to roll it all back as this dick deck was complete f*(king over this great game and turning into a luck fest but I stayed the course, I think I was so enraged that they would do this to a great game I wasn't thinking straight. So it continued on like this I seriously had to hold myself back from ripping the whole deck up right there. To have such a great game wrecked in such a fashion even a day later thinking about it has me looking at it and having it right next to my shredder I'm not sure I can resist even if it's worth $20. The cherry on top was when I got exactly the 7 wood I needed to fence in my land and the event that happened to Felix earlier that he said "took him out of the game" (don't worry he won of course) got shuffled back in and Evan made a joke and said it wood be funny of that card came up again and sure enough "All your wood are belong to us" and I lost all my wood so it essentially cost me 3 actions just cuz. I was so enraged by the end of this it was hard to do basic adding up of the scores. Felix-50/ Evan-44/ Scott-36

Salvage
Board Game: Salvage
(Derek, Felix, Shrey and Scott) (4P) - A trick taking gamer with the unique theme of an oil tanker on fire and we are trying to salvage the oil and not get burned. You get to pass 0-2 cars with the person in last place picking how many cards everyone will pass each round. 4 suites with the red deck being fire (bad) and two 7's in green and dark blue having 3 fires on them. You have to play in suit if you can. Try to avoid fire or get it all (shoot the moon) and you get zero points and everyone else gets -3. There are also oil barrels that you can draft at the start of each hand to offset the fire. I managed to do well with the passes and got what I needed to shoot the moon on the last hand sending Derek to get degreased zone. Scott-12/ Felix-9/ Shery-8/ Derek-(-1).

DOG
Board Game: DOG
(4P) - We were throwing out games left and right and nothing was sticking so Felix suggested this team game. Shrey was like "I'll learn a new game and have heard about this before" and Derek had not played it before. Derek's eyes got big as soon as he saw the board set up and was this is f*(&in' Sorry! Felix was it's much better then sorry, to which Derek was it's F*()3@ Sorry, lol. There is a ton of luck in this but it has some team elements and some f*)C^& Sorry elements but it's cards not dice so it's better. Shrey made no secret he was praying for it to be over and sometimes this game can outstay it's welcome but it went as good as the game can get, Shrey ain't buying it even if you give him the money Team Derek & Shrey won after using much teamwork and take that devil

Dreadful Circus
Board Game: Dreadful Circus
(Derek, Shrey, Craig, Evan, Leann and Scott) (6P) - Blind bidding, set collecting game were the theme doesn't really matter but I liked the art. Each turn 2 players put out a card and then players put a bid in a box and place it next to the card they want to bid on. The players that put the cards out have to bid on the other persons card. You have to put something in the box and the first auctioneer picks a box to secretly open and accept or reject the bid, if they reject they give the box back and pick another one to open and might end up with low bid if they wait too long. I love blind bidding because you have to guess how valuable something is to other players it reminds me of poker. 6 players was probably the perfect count for this game as I think it would really suck at lower player counts like 4 or less. If you hate auctions this won't change your mind, but I liked it a lot. Probably not enough to buy it but maybe as their are not too many games that play 6-8. I won a bid in the last round that let me take silver coins (2vp each) from another player and had to guess who had the most and I knew it had to be Evan (it wasn't payback for the Agricola Legen*dairy deck I swear devil) I was right and had a card that gave me an extra bonus for each silver coin and I just beat Leann for the win. We did the math and if I hadn't taken those from Evan he would have totally won so I guessed right

Descent: Legends of the Dark
Board Game: Descent: Legends of the Dark
(Seana, Jeremy, Kerry and Scott) (4P) - *Spoiler Free* I have been anxiously awaiting to play this for a while. I had heard good things about it from some respected game designers that were playing it at a convention I went to in August. They gave us the tip to play were there is a bigger screen as a laptop or tablet just doesn't quite cut it. They were so right luckily Jeremy has and extra monitor so hooked it up for us and we played the intro episode. It can get very wordy so I know that will bother some as there was a good 5 minutes of dialog we had to go through before it started but we were into it. I really enjoyed it, we unknowingly cheated a little bit giving all the players the black die for defense instead of the die next to their shield but it was just the intro episode so things will get harder. You have to answer branching questions which will hopefully make it more replayable but who knows? I am enjoying the system so far and the terrain is easy to add, I would think it would be harder but it's not which is a small feat in itself. I am enjoying it enough to paint it (see below). 1 Mission Success but I did get wounded but came back with a vengeance and my caster returned what he got

Board Game: Heaven & Ale: Kegs & More
(Craig, Jeremy and Scott) (3P) - Craig wanted to throw me off and play with the expansion. It makes the game a little looser but was good to try it again as it seemed broken last time when Dustin ignored everything else and just ran beer and won by a bit but it turned out we missed some rules and it played better this time but I still prefer just the core game. It was pretty close with Craig and I and wasn't sure who would win and neither was he. It turned out Craig was able to just pull it out with being able to get his ingredients higher so he just won. Jeremy did well but was struggling getting up the ingredient track at the end but I've seen so worse.8/10

Board Game: Portugal (fan expansion for Age of Industry)
(Craig, Jeremy and Scott) (3P) - This is a great map at 3 players. It took us a little while to grasp the special rules for the map and then I remembered there is a big coal problem later in the game. I couldn't draw a location card and tried 6 times but just got industry cards (see pics). So I built slowly north then b#@tchz would flaunt that they had no problem with area cards and built on my sh!t. I whined and bitched and did something I usually never do and showed them my cards and they all had a good laugh. Jeremy did well and I clawed back to 2nd place and poor Craig just stalled out at the end.

The Quacks of Quedlinburg
Board Game: The Quacks of Quedlinburg
(Dustin, Andria and Scott) (3P) - Andrea picked this game and was happy I didn't have the heart to tell her this game has grown to frustrate the hell out me, lol. We were just playing the basic version so at least I had a rough idea how they all worked. I taught to refresh their memories because they had forgot everything. I usually love press your luck games but for some reason this game hits some sort of piss-me-off button. I blew up for the first 3 turns, the first turn I did it on purpose just to get extra cash and it's no big deal but all in all I think I blew up at least 5 times angry Then Dustin did the ultimate insult by figuring out a way he cold draw all his tokens and not blow up because we had a yellow token that added 1 to the blow up level per yellow token so he bought them every turn but I was that is Bull S@$#@% and made me a bit angrier with the game. No surprise Dustin won and Andrea & I tied for 2nd Going to take a lot to get me to play this one again...

Kanban EV
Board Game: Kanban EV
(Shrey, Derek, Evan and Scott) (4P) - One of the few Lacerdas I enjoy but this time around I was locked out of getting new designs for the first 3 rounds, part of it was my fault as I forgot how things would be resolved and how Sandra moves. I tried to make up for it by getting tons of parts and pumping out cars to get extra conversations at the meeting but it was not effective. Shrey dominated this time around getting the right cars and the popular upgrades. Evan claimed he had last place but I ended up 20 points behind him, doh! Guess I'm getting some leftover pie from Thanksgiving...humble pie Shrey-141/ Derek-119/ Evan-115/ Scott-91

Exhibition: 20th Century
Board Game: Exhibition: 20th Century
(3P) - Cute, much better then Cardline as you think it's easy but then you try to path out the tiles you need and it's a whole lot to think about and can go so wrong when someone takes the card you need. You take a card from the column your in but the color on the card moves your piece to most likely a new column Depending on the area you trying to fill you might need cards earlier/later/in the 50's and more. Nice filler game but probably not for non-gamers. Craig-21/ Jeremy-18/ Scott-17

Board Game: Concordia: Aegyptus / Creta
(Kerry, Craig, Jeremy and Scott) (4P) - Kerry wanted to play this and it's one of our groups favorites so we were in and pulled out the fun Aegyptus map. It floods that give you and extra grain when it produces and multiple travelers can share the same sail lanes. I was doing ok but Craig had zoned in on buying all the cards of the same bonus type (we never caught on) and maxing that out for a good amount of points and the win. I got 2nd about 20 points back and Jeremy and Kerry had fun...

Board Game: Fool!
(Kerry, Craig, Jeremy and Scott) (4P) - Had enough time for a quick trick taker/not taker. 4 players is not the sweet spot (5) but it was really funny as I lead the first trick and it revealed Jeremy was out of that suit. I was long in it and realized Kerry was out in a different color so ran those for all they were worth and Craig took over and boom Jeremy was 31 (that's not good but made us laugh). They went out of their way to put me down but all I could say was "not today." Scott-(-17)/ Craig-6/ Kerry-24/ Jeremy-40

Hagakure
Board Game: Hagakure
(Jeremy, Felix, Evan, Craig and Scott) (5P) - Black Friday gaming were everyone brings leftovers (this year we scored with Derek's moms lasagna. Instead of shopping like maniacs Craig has had a long tradition of hosting early (before noon) board games. Jeremy had picked this up buying new games for a local convention. It's a trick taking game but you have a group of little tiles that you can only use once to try and glean extra points. We all played poorly but Jeremy almost double 2nd place score for the win. Chariot Race
Board Game: Chariot Race
(4P) - Great beer and pretzels racing/murder/death game. I went 2nd and that is really bad because other players can't reach the leader and stab you instead, which was exactly what happened. I had spears sticking in my back and Felix broke away in front and it took everything to not totally lose sight of him. Blood was flying everywhere from everybody. Before we knew it Jeremy ran smack dab into a stone wall and turned into a bloody mess which Craig follow soon after it was glorious. Felix went across the finish line and there was no way for me to pass him for the win...but if I got close enough I could stab him to death with some spears so I would be the only one left for the win which I did

Brass: Birmingham
Board Game: Brass: Birmingham
(4P) - I(yellow) couldn't get anything going but managed to pull some stuff out at the end to not be in last place. I knew I was doomed when I put out factories, boxes and everything else including pottery. Spreading out not the best strategy. Craig(purple) decided to take all the beer spots early and flood the market and it surprisingly worked as I had to do some wild stuff to put some beer out (scout) and no one else could get beer because we had used them all. They kept building sh!t right before I was going to and it was rough. Craig beer rush (CBR) for the win at 139 but just barely, the rest of use were all within 10 points of him at the end.

Gutenberg
Board Game: Gutenberg
(Derek, Jeremy, Felix and Scott) (4P) - Derek worked hard and got this in for our local convention but arrived a week too late but we still put it to good use. It's about drafting stuff and using stuff to get points. It has some wheels and gears to help build a personal engine. Everyone loves asynchronized powers but this one, albeit my only play, didn't feel they were equally powerful. I liked most of it, still not rushing out to buy it, but had a gripe with the order cards seemed to add too much luck for our game. The theme skin was weak when it could have added pizzazz with some real history of the first books printed. Our leader was pulling orders from the top of the deck and easily filling them and getting 6 points and I never saw one worth that when drafting so I was a little bitter angry I'll have to try it again as it's not really fair to bitch about something that might not exist after one play. Loved the little wood blocks.

Unfathomable
Board Game: Unfathomable
(Adrian, Chris, Sarah, Peter and Scott) (5P) - Peter brought this and I had picked up a copy and wanted to try it out so I could teach it to people that might play it in my group. Yes I painted my set but was playing Peters set. It is 80% Battle Star Gallactica but has it's own quirks. We started off great, we wanted to take the ship to Boston but Deep Ones started pouring onto the ship and we were getting swarmed. Sarah had a trusty rifle and took most of them out. We kept them at bay but then we had to do a big test or Momma was going to wreck our boat so the test was 15 but we had to pass it or 1/2+ the ship would be damaged but we had enough cards until captain Peter played a card to guarantee a failure. I'm not sure Sarah had played a game like this before and just didn't seem to understand when we spelled it out for her that the captain wasn't on our side then the tomb keeper (Adrian) had daddy put Deep Ones right on the boat, she was confused and thought he just misplayed so explained he also isn't our friend and we can see gills. So we didn't have cards because I had been in Sick Bay for 2 rounds and she had to make a choice of lose 1 fuel (we had 9 of max of 10 at the time) or fail and be defeated so she chose a test she would fail and played low cards on it then played a 5 card to keep herself from going to Sick Bay... I was confused and thought we might have a 3rd hybrid (traitor) on board but they assured me there were only 2. I was like it's the most plentiful thing we have keep your cards and just don't try but it was her decision so I didn't want to be "that guy" so it is what it is. I hopped into the last undamaged room to fight 2 Deep Ones but the humans thought we could make the test so I went with the crowd. It was for the game so they are going to throw all their cards in to kill us but they were like we got this ok... The big reveal to see if we made our number of 9. We were so close at -1 laugh I think we were doomed anyhow but man our crew was possessed devil

New Bedford
Board Game: New Bedford
(Peter, Chris, Sarah and Scott) (4P) - I have been waiting to get this back to the table for over a year. Craig & Steph are not fans so I have to wait for a different group and that doesn't happen a lot these days. They really liked it, building their own buildings and trying to lure other players to use their improved action spaces and pay 1 gold because you need a lot of gold after your whaling ships come back to port. While your ships are out at sea you draft tiles with the person furthest out picking first. I taught this group well and they schooled me by outbuilding me in every respect and finagled it so they were further out most of the time but I was just happy to play it again. Asara
Board Game: Asara
(Andrea, Dustin, Craig and Scott) (4P) - Area control game with pillars you build so endless dick jokes abound. Lots of envy going on laugh I went with the cheapest one and kind of went overboard to make it huge and to my surprise it lasted all game as everyone else wanted points for the most towers which I was happy not to compete against. Others went for the extra work to build lighted windows for their tower and it just seemed like too much work, turned out I was right Not a bad game but not jumping on Amazon to pick up a copy. Everyone scored well so sadly no embarrassing stories for this game but don't worry I have a real good one to tell later.

(Andrea, Dustin, Craig and Scott) (4P) - A drafting tile laying game. Competition for getting points via all sorts of different fun ways. I should have won but I depleted my pinecone stash to try to make it even better but if I had left it alone it would have won, the great pinecone depression of the 20's has begun. I went for the lone couple bear strategy for big points but was no competition for Dustin's salmon/water points. Dustin-94/ Scott-91/ Craig-88/ Andrea-80

(Evan, Craig, Shrey and Scott) (4P) - Someone hadn't played Ra before so we played a quick game while Derek was driving up and it turned out he has never played either, how is that possible? It's such a press-your-luck/auction classic. I learned my lesson from last time about not getting any civs & pharaohs so I didn't want to have the same problem this time by prioritizing other stuff. Sadly my points were not keeping up and I bid poorly and again ended in last place cry

Brian Boru: High King of Ireland
Board Game: Brian Boru: High King of Ireland
(Derek, Evan, Craig, Shrey and Scott) (5P) - Shrey had a new game which was welcome as part of the Cult of the New has been choked out by the manufacturing/shipping problems lately. I ordered 5 new games for LT and 0 of them arrived so it's been rough. This is an area control/drafting/trick taking game. It was a rougher then it needed to be 1st game as we didn't have any idea what the card distribution was and couldn't find it in the rule book anywhere so hopefully someone has already made a little player aid like the one in the Bottle Imp game. I enjoyed it and 5 players didn't seem to hurt things time wise but 4 seemed like it would hit that sweet spot of like 75 minutes once we knew are stuff at 4 players. We played horribly and I think did a few things wrong so people might have got more points then they should have with awarding influence at the end of every round were in a later game when Dan read the rules you had to win the Viking fights to get that awarded. I totally didn't understand how things payed out and wasted the whole 1st round as I won the church bonus had to kill all my tokens but didn't own any land anywhere so I got nothing except a good lesson in bad strategy... a theme that you will see later laugh Shrey won but I think it will be much harder for him to win next time now that we understand it. If the Vikings hit and you contributed the least they steal a town of yours that is hard to get back.

Chariot Race
Board Game: Chariot Race
(Derek, Evan, Craig, Shrey and Scott) (5P) - I really enjoyed this ridiculously violent race game from Matt Leacock. We told everyone that most of you won't live to see the end of this race and we were entertained. I got out to a head start which is super bad as everyone throws their spears at you, I started with 12 health and by the end of the first action I was at 8 or 9 health. I was lucky at rolling coin dice so kept healing myself. Evan was biding his time and ended up hitting the most debris. Shey used up his fortune too soon (dice manipulation) and died in a brilliant fireball after ramming me. I managed to heal a bunch and get all the turns I needed to get around the first lap after loosing 1st place for a couple of turns. Derek hung with me but super lucky for me he stopped rolling spears attacks. Evan played it super safe after taking a bunch of speed damage and after I got across the finish line he was just behind me with 1 hp left so he would be 2nd. No way Craig was going to let a cowardly move like that slide so he ran Evan over at the finish line as you had to live to the end of the turn It's Ameritrash racing at it's finest, Matt has also done a few other games you might of heard of like Pandemic but this is my favorite. Beer and pretzel weight and attitude all the way best with more.

Automobile
Board Game: Automobile
(5P) - We needed a good 5 player that Shrey liked and this fit the bill even though Derek did not look enthused. Craig got Derek up to speed as he had only played once before and this was a really crazy game with people spending their research tokens like crazy to make early leaps. I had a great first 3 rounds just selling all my cars but Evan was going crazy trying to bully people into not producing medium cars by producing 2-3 times in a round. I wasn't buying it and dumped cars on the market making it super tight and Craig scaring Evan into using the double grey to sell when he didn't need to costing him $600 is always funny. Poor Shrey was just not having a smooth game with everyone wrecking all his plans. Derek did really well and was in the running. Last round looked good but both medium and cheap cars looked over produced. I knew medium cars were tanking this round because of my tiles and I couldn't let Craig sell all his cheap cars as he was in a position to win if he did so I produced a 2nd time for the min car count in my cheap factory (5). It turned out that was the exact wrong decision and I fell directly on a sword through my radiator. If I had just put out 1 more saleman instead I would have sold all production and won the game but instead I tanked Craig & myself and let Evan win. Ancestors forgive me, must bow my head in shame cry cry cry Evan-$4,380/ Scott-$3,930/ Craig-$3,910/ Shrey-$3,810/ Derek-$3,390

Board Game: Brian Boru: High King of Ireland
(Kevin, Dan, ? and Scott) (4P) - My 2nd game and remembered enough to teach it to this new group and Dan verifying the rules so I didn't get too far off. Kevin was really enjoying it with Dan not hating it. I spread out all the cards face up so people could see the distribution and pointed out the high cards so they knew when someone had a lock on the town selection. In the end Kevin used a lot of axes to get a good jump but I wasn't far behind and we all scored well even with less scoring opportunities with a better understanding. The scoring for spreading out to different regions seemed really weak but that was a minor gripe. Kevin-42/ Scott-35/ Dan-25/ ?-24

Whale Riders
Board Game: Whale Riders
(Kevin, Dan, ? and Scott) (4P) - This had such a weird theme but felt like a classic Knizia. The goal was to get to the Sun area and then back to the start and buy up all the pearls (vp). It's getting resources and converting them into VP pearls. We played with the expansion that added asynchronous powers and gave up goal tiles which Dan got 3/4 before we could get off the blocks. I got 1 free move every turn which I abused to get the last bonus and tiles. They were used to a slower pacing while the storms came but I went down and back super fast and had cash plus 2 turns of buying. Dan had a power to buy what he wanted as much as he wanted but I cleared out a lot of point ones just in time. Dan ended it buying the last 3 pearls but I had got enough contracts to offset his 3 tile bonus start and beat him by 1 point woot! Thank you yellow Orca!

Dwellings of Eldervale
Board Game: Dwellings of Eldervale
(Ray, Kerry, Jeremy and Scott) (4P) - Ray had tried really hard to get this to the table. He posted online and I read up on the game and it sounded interesting and so did Jeremy who convinced Kerry so we had a full group to try it out. Wow this thing was an obvious Kickstarter with a few items overproduced like a sound stand that doesn't quite fit so the monsters can make noise each time they move on the board, it's a little gimmicky but the core game is actually pretty good. Yellow was designed for me with a cat warrior riding a beetle I'm so in We had a rough start to figure things out for the first game for all of us but once we got going it was pretty smooth. This game comes with some massive bling and a price tag to match. If it was a little cheaper I would totally be in but looks a little out of my price range for now. If Santa brings it to someone else I would help play! I ignored the goal of getting points and went around killing 5 of the 6 monsters by myself! I know Dwellings is in the title (and the main way to score points) but c'mon by killing big monsters I totally become a legend while the winners live in stupid houses that will crumble to dust while my legend lives on! Also I think we missed the rule that you gain a color bump when you kill the monster of that color and that you have to buy an adventure card before you can go in a dudgeon

Ian volunteered to read the rules which were pretty straight forward with Seana jumping in with Don for control of the world. I got a good start and placed a temple to block most of Ian's good shots but it worked against me as people used it as a place to stop their shots so they could stay on his island. The foolish gods (us) voted a rule into law (I was against it) that allowed Don to win by getting his discs onto all the isles. I liked it but not sure the others did but I'll get it to the table again some day...

SCOUT
Board Game: SCOUT
(4P) - We played a few rounds then a couple of players had another game they went off to. It was new to a couple of players and then we had 2 replacements and the old new players wanted to play a proper number of rounds and we had fun but I can't remember anything else dang I should have taken a pic of the score pad. I wonder what it's going to be like with a circus theme.

Goa
Board Game: Goa
(Asher-green, Dustin Craig-blue, Kevin-red and Scott-yellow) (4P) - Things looked a little grim as Dustin who was our 4th had to leave at the last second. 4 is the best number for this game but it does fine with 3 so I was getting ready to play 3 after 5 minutes of looking around but then Craig showed up a little worse for wear but was willing to take it on. Little did I know how epic this game would turn out. Everyone was fast and loose with bidding except for Craig so he got less actions by only once all game winning a bid for extra action. Craig wins the most efficient player award with a much higher points to action ratio. He and Asher had also developed the Explorer track with Craig getting to 3 cards a turn early. Kevin (his 2nd game ever) was probably doing the smartest bidding and got 9 points just from tiles. I had gone early into sails and discovering new islands rich in free stuff. Then something peculiar had happen that I have never ever seen in the game were only like 6 Explorer cards in the deck. I had earned some with tech and the rest through pushing down columns then the symbols matched 3 for 6vp and 2 for 3vp so I hung on to them. Turned out in the end everyone had a 3 card set match and was hanging on to them It was going to be super close so I pushed down on the coin track at the end to get explorer cards and then had nothing to do so I tried to steal most money award for 3vp and actually succeeded from Kevin after running my money action several times! I've never been in a gamer were everyone broke 42! Scott-47/ Kevin-43/Craig-43/Asher-42.

Wavelength
Board Game: Wavelength
(Team 1-Kevin, Ian, Bunny : Team 2- Brian, ? and Scott) (6P) - It had been a whole 2 years since I had last played this game and it was at Lobster trap in 2019. This was a twisted game but my team got out to a good lead thanks to Ian and Honey Combs that his team didn't understand but I did after years of gaming and eating snacks with him Our team started to tank and somehow we ended up tied one point from the end and then the game took an unexpected twist. The decision was friend or enemy and Bunny was having a hard time figuring out a clue so I, being on the opposing team, offered Ian to my surprise she went with it. Ian confidently dialed in his area and it went to us but then he realized it wasn't friend or enemy it was enemy or friend so he changed it quickly to the other side but I think Bunny read it as friend or enemy (that's is also how she read it to us) so we went on the side of enemy devil It turned out Ian had it exactly right before he changed it and we all had an uncomfortable laugh and my team won

Sunday - Lobster Trap Day 4
It was the last day and I got up later then I wanted and shot out the house too quickly and forgot to bring my watch(which reminds me if I leave the house without a phone) and phone so no pictures for this day.

Ra
Board Game: Ra
(4P) - I got a lot of location tiles but no culture and ties galore for last place Pharaoh and they kept boning me for any triple+ locations. I lost but still had more points then I started with so it could have been worse.

Reapers
Board Game: Reapers
(5P) - Interesting drafting trick taking game that Shrey wanted us to try. You shuffle up the deck and put cards out in groups of splayed 3, then snake draft till you have 9 cards and a graveyard of 3. The special Reaper card ducks the trick but pulls the top card out of the graveyard. After drafting everyone has to choose a goal for the round with the best payout for least tricks, then 2nd place and a wimpy payout for choosing to be a coward. It took a round to get it but wow everyone tried to get 2nd place award and failed. I'm taking the wimpy small award for not choosing anything next time

Concordia
Board Game: Concordia
(4P) - (Patrick, Shrey, Felix, Derek and Scott)
Felix heard someone looking to play 18xx and bailed on us faster then you can say 1882. It was Patrick's first play. I got last for the start and was left with nothing but crap so I did a questionable first turn Mercader and got money so I could build on the only close salt spot and leach stuff from Shrey. He saw it coming and Tribuned before I could build so I ran to the NE and built on the only close cloth. I then pushed cloth throughout the game and traded it for cash but my lack of variety hurt early on. Everyone told Patrick he needs to get cards for his first game, he listened and he broke 100 and looked like he might win but somehow Shrey (by far the expert on this game) managed to win with just 4 cards bought. We all broke 100 so that was good

Hansa Teutonica
Board Game: Hansa Teutonica
(?, Shrey, Patrick, Patrick and Scott) (5P) - It was time to go back to this classic dry euro Oh man this was a meaner game then I remembered. Once again they all thought I was winning when I was in not a threat. I did have a short period when I was actually leading in points but had no plan and used up my disc to early. I was about to get 11 drum points for my last turn which would have locked me in 3rd place (no change) but they thought I would win and ended it by using up the meal tokens, lol. I'm flattered they consider me such a threat but this game was starting to trigger me with all sorts of in your face stuff. The Patrick (not the TM Patrick) who taught the game did some good positioning of the meals bonus chits and working it consistently to get 2 points and use the meal to work it into more meals. Shrey had the best plan and connected the center towns for 7 points but did not hammer the key area enough afraid of giving me free stuff as I had two cubes on the route. I had a memory of optimal dry euro the in your face stuff I can handle if I'm prepared which I wasn't so I tried to be a good sport with all the I'll take control of that from you and I'm kicking you out of this area #$@@. The guy who taught us the game won with Shrey close behind.

Last game for me on Lobster Trap Day 2 Friday Night

From gallery of fsnam
(Felix, Dan, Steph and Scott) (4P) - Ship Shape was a fun little filler hand management, drafting game were you had the same cards to choose from for turn order and tried to look into the draft stack and guess when you need to take a tile and fit it into your ship to try and cover up all the spaces. If you tie someone then you have a bid off between the tied players so they will have less choices initially but will have more cards to choose from when they refresh their hands earlier. I was spectacularly lucky winning most things I went for and if I didn't I found a way to rotate and flip a bad draft into a good one. I forget the final score but I won yay!

Wednesday - Lobster Trap Day 0
After a year of hiatus one of my favorite conventions was back, we did a lot of extra paperwork this year but it was well worth it seeing everyone again and meeting some new faces. The hotel was very accommodating and let us in our space a little early yay!

Galaxy Trucker
Board Game: Galaxy Trucker
(Michael, Steph and Scott) (3P) - Finally some enthusiastic people to play Galaxy Trucker with. There is always someone in the group that freaks out at the real-time aspect or hates watching their ship being comically dismantled by space but not Steph and Michael .
A great way to kick off my first play at Lobster Trap. We all had a pretty good 1st round without taking too much damage. I got an award for most components that use batteries so I threw a bunch of guns and shields on my ship but couldn't conveniently position a shield to protect my front but I figured no big deal I got tons of forward facing guns... The combat zone hit me hard without enough engines I got reamed by laser fire and my front guns in the center were gone and it just got worse from there, Steph was having different but equally bad problems devil Third round went great for Michael leaving Steph and I tied for 2nd place. I really like all the little changes they did for this edition but it plays a lot like the original version so you like/dislikes of the game will carry over.

Kraftwagen
Board Game: Kraftwagen
(Felix, Jeremy, Craig and Scott) (4P) - Felix went for motors and I went for body. Jeremy joined in the muscle engines and Craig went for f@#$@#ckery. I put a bunch of guys on a car for service thinking Craig wouldn't cripple himself and commit almost all his guys but I should not have underestimated his pension for f@#$@#ckery. I had a bad first round but managed to hold a monopoly on body and sold so many cars for top dollar that I managed to get ahead for the win. Craig was trying his hand at racing hard but his engine was dated and couldn't put up serious race points (that's what she said). He did manage to get just about all the guys who can manipulate cars on the market but to no advantage. Felix did a good run but just wasn't able to get the big bucks when they squabble over crap cheap cars. Never a dull game.

Witchstone
Board Game: Witchstone
(Jeremy, Shrey. Winston and Scott) (4P) - Coming off my previous win I thought I remembered enough to teach this but I so did not but luckily Jeremy was free and come over and joined us and taught. I zipped down the wand track to get all the 1st bonuses so I could connect my lines for secret secret bonuses (it didn't work). We did find a new rule that we missed were you can remove a stone on your player board for VP that will be handy. Shrey managed to crush us by running around the pentagram a lot and ignoring the wand track. I had a good start but stalled at the end and ended up 3rd. Fun game but I don't think it has legs to stick around.

Unsettled
Board Game: Unsettled
(Donna, Mathew and Scott) (3P) - Mathew wanted to play this big box coop that I never heard of so I gave it a shot. It had weird things to explore as we split up to try and figure out this new planet. It is bar none the strangest space themed board game I have ever played. It's all about exploration and working together. I was super unlucky and they were getting a skill in each of the 3 areas while I had none so I was watching them complete all sorts of things in their fancy degrees while I had my crumpled GED and clothes from Good Will. It unfortunately had what I consider a bad part of coops with no hidden information so it could run into 1 player trying to run all the characters but luckily it was a good group and we didn't have that. It would probably be a good couple game but ultimately just not for me. I loved the finale that we ran into but wont reveal it here as it is best as a surprise but we died, so close whistle

TEN
Board Game: TEN
(5P) - A very different game then 9. It's about bidding and set collecting. I'm all about auctions so I enjoyed it and managed to get 2nd I think out of our 5 player group. I had fun but still not enough to buy it.

Quartermaster General WW2: 2nd Edition
Board Game: Quartermaster General WW2: 2nd Edition
(6P) - Felix brought his copy of the 2nd edition of Quartermaster General. There always seems to be somebody who doesn't want to play this in any group of 6 I'm in (usually ...cough.. cough...Dan). I really wanted to see the improvements they did in 2nd edition. It played a lot like the 1st edition but balanced it a little so it wasn't an auto win for the Allies this time around. I was Japan(Scott) and we managed to take over all of Asia unopposed as the US(Dustin) just couldn't get ships out. I put down some nasty traps but they got tossed by other cards but it didn't matter as they let me have too many stars for too long and my partners kept Russia(Felix) at bay and the English(Craig) from landing for a 30+ vp mercy win

Board Game: Age of Industry
Board Game: Age of Industry Expansion: Belgium & USSR
(Felix, Dustin, Craig and Scott) (4P) - After such a bad showing with botched rules from last game of this we had to do another. It was different and better, not just because I played a bunch better I played better but Felix was doing better zagging with ports while we were way too frugal to put those out. It was a game of chicken and all of us in the north lost. If only I had tried to get those out to like my game last week. This one was legit though so we have to give the win to Felix, map needs a scoring track around it so I can take a picture of final score, so the real winner may or may not coincide with how I remember.

Nemesis
Board Game: Nemesis
(Joe R., Michelle, Michael, Steph and Scott) (5P) - It was going to be 4 but Michelle was looking to get into a group and this might be it so we went up to 5 players. I always try and stay at 4 but Michelle had traveled so far (NC). We, once again, had an epic game. I had to be the lone survivor or go for all the rooms explored and signal sent cry it was hard. Things were going ok for everyone. Joe was bleeding out, I patched him up and sent him on his way and wouldn't you know he started to bleed out again. I couldn't make it so had to play tag with a Breeder guarding the main signal room. Michael got chomped and died opening up the escape pods for the rest of us, yeah?! Joe crawled in and hit the button on the escape pod with blood flowing everywhere closely followed by Steph with a face-hugger. Michelle and I were going to go into hypersleep but then an adult came and we had no weapons left so we had to run! The adult left the 2nd bay of escape pod area so we headed that direction. Michelle made it to the pod just in time to see the adult return. I found some chems and fired up my needle gun and shot myself so I could draw 3 cards and ran over to save her with my last shot for a heroic finish and save the day... except I missed and ran away. I heard screams then a chomp chomp... then they came for me and I got eaten to. Resolution, Steph was so infected and while she made it back to earth did not live. Joe only had 1 contaminated card and he was clean for the sole win on his first play I'm never disappointed with this game no matter how it plays out, good times!

The Quest for El Dorado
Board Game: The Quest for El Dorado
(Evan-Scrooge McDuck, Jeremy- Bob Ross, Craig- 90s Cameo Stan Lee, and Scott- Bennie from the Mummy) (4P) - Oh man we did the harshest of the standard maps with Heroes & Hexes. The way to the Hero bar was so tough I just bypassed it altogether (I never do that). It went through a mountain bottleneck that you had to trash 3 cards to get through. It looked pretty good and then I got caught in a tough water area with Evan stuck behind me for a few turns early on. Fast forward to the last tile and I had a small chance to make it to the end as we were all pretty close all I needed was 1 water card but I just didn't have it cry Evan must have wasted at least 6 turn being stuck behind people but somehow he still managed to win at the end without going to the Hero Bar.

Art Decko
Board Game: Art Decko
(3P) - My first game with Ben this year and Colleen. She was very disappointed that somehow yellow was already picked and laid the guilt on thick that she wasn't yellow and had a unique story about how she was always yellow because no one else wanted to be it... lol, I'm just kidding that is the same story for every yellow player everywhere Ben liked this but not the card sleeves as his hands are sensitive, I felt bad because I never use sleeves but I just can't replace this game easily because it had such a small print run. I maxed the purples almost to 70 value but managed to pick up a bunch of points in paintings but it just barely won in the end. I couldn't explain it so Coleen could understand what affected the price and vp of items but Ben and I tried really hard but it just wasn't clicking, I've had those games so I can relate -I'm looking at you Web of Power.

Terraforming Mars
Board Game: Terraforming Mars
(Ron, Patrick, Craig and Scott) (4P) - Finally another game in person. It was a classic group and Craig and I both sat down and told Patrick that if we get any bad cards they happen to Ron. Somehow Patrick was like I'm fn over Scott and now it's Craig and let's hug Ron. It was shocking and Ron paid his kindness back with a quick kick to Patrick's nads and messed up his stuff. That's what ya get b#2! We teased Patrick a bit in good fun. He apologized and admitted his shame but oh the damage was done and Ron getting the perfect start with the Colonies expansion (3 free power production) sealed our fate but we always give Ron a 20 point handicap which he mostly failed as he only won by 19 points (he did beat me by exactly 20 points to rub the salt in angry) So Patrick unofficially won beating Craig in the tiebreaker, booo!
Ron-78/ Patrick-59/ Criag-59/ Scott-58.

Mystic Paths
Board Game: Mystic Paths
(6P) - Oh this was the roughest outing I have ever seen in this game. I had misread my starting card and gave clues to the wrong spot and then they all got their tickets punched for crazy town and there was no way I could connect their guess even to the spots they kept choosing so by the end I was covering up my bottom clues illegally and they still couldn't get it with Craig being the most confident at getting it wrong just to make sure I did worse then his worst game of 3 yes I got 2 cry I I shamed the human race cry We did give out 3 silver trophies but who cares cry cry cry Every clue lead to the Muppets this game.

The Hunger
Board Game: The Hunger
(Brian, Kerry, Jeremy, Scott, ?, ?) (6P) - This was a cross between Clank! and Deep Sea Adventure about Vampires going out on the town and eating people. You play 3 cards a turn to do stuff for actions like move with a big point thing at the end of the line but will you get back in time (the answer this game was no ) You can drink a drunk which helps you initially but later when it comes up you head in the wrong direction which killed off the sure winner, mwa ha ha. I really enjoyed it but very much question some of the production choices especially the glossy game board But I'm still buying it as I love press your luck games like this.
