Hi there! I hope you are enjoying new Dark elves disks and the other things I'm creating. While I'm preparing new content, and
if you still haven't heard, I created a reddit Warhammer Diskwars community.

The objective is gathering all people that love this game or want to start to play it building a forward way making this game better than it already is and keeping it alive for a long time. I'm doing my bit and I hope you want to put your desires on it. Be part of the community and take part of Twin Tailed Comet project. I want to see what amazing posts you can do!

Dark Elves: Army Spotlight

Here we go, at least, from the frozen lands of Naggaroth, Dark elves have arrived! Black heart legions will destroy everything in his path taking all they wish, leaving a trail of shattered corpses and devastated cities.
Dark elves army is based on the empowering mechanic (beware of plaguebearers!). As you can see next, they have a really heavy offensive potential so you will want to take initiative to erase enemy as fast as possible before they pinned your disks getting you in troubles. Let's take a look about they can do.

Keywords

Hidden: this disk can be reinforced within short range of an ally unpinned same-race infantry disk. An infantry disk can only be used once to activate a disk with this keyword.

Hero. Caster. Magic 3.

Treat each enemy disks embatled with this disk as having a blank text box.

A pain in the ass. It can be played as a melee support or in a defensive way protecting your own disks against statistical disruptors. He have not a powerfull vanilla value but he is covered against an importal part of hunter killer disks.

Hero. Impact 2. Mobile

This disk can be empowered up to 3 times at a time.
Focus: Move up to 3 empowerment tokens from allies within medium range to this disk.

It comes to break the empowerment mechanic. This disc requires very good coordination with your troops but if you succeed, fear will remain in your enemies forever.


Small Disks

Infantry. Relentless.

When this disk engages an enemy disk with higher recruitment cost, empower this disk.

Run through enemy bulk into the backline and score a kill. Eliminate annoying disks and open space for your offense.

Witch Elves (8)
infantry. Impact 1. Fear.

When this disk deals impact damage to a dark elves disk, empower this disk.

By a little penalty, this disk can open combos in a fast and efficient way. At the same time, its disruption power is a good way to put your enemies in troubles.

Sorceress (7)
Caster. Magic 2.

When this disk deals damage with Magic, empower a dark elf disk within medium range.

Average caster with a powerful passive. The easiest way to improve your army power if you can place her in a strategic position where use your range power.

Har Ganeth Executioners (8)
Infantry.

All damage dealt by this disk in melee phase is considered true damage.

The most solid disk that you will see. Good attributes for it price and enough skill to erase in a blink every single tanks of the game.

Missile.

After roll hit or critical hit, empower this disk.

I think this is a weird disk, I can think about too many forms to play it in different ways but i don't know how many of there will work.

Khainita Assassin (9)
Character. Assassin. Hidden.

When reinforcing it, empower this disk.

Hidden disk again. Funny, offensive and scary. Take advantage of his first impact in the game. Use it in the right moment but don't wait too long because it could be too late.


Medium Disks

For each leftover movement point when it does impact damage, this disk gain Impact 1.

Dark elves heavy cavalry. One of the only disk with a good remarkable toughness value and the only medium unit. If it hold enough, it can destroy every enemy that get too close.


Largue Disks

War machine. Resistant (AD).

Stamina 1.
Each dark elves empowered disks within medium range gain Frenzy.

The crown jewel. One of the best way to maximize empowerment dark elves mechanic. Enemies will not stay close to each other or they will die at the same time.

This is one of disks that I have modified the most times. In the future I am thinking on increase their recruitment cost or restrict it skill to within short range.

War hydra (14)
Monster. Resistant (PD).

After this disk takes damage but before it receives a wound, roll a d6. If you roll 6, removes all damage tokens from this disk.

To be honest, i don't know how this disk will work. I think it can be broken or it can be the weakest. I will leave the decision to you about what to do with this disk in the future. Nerf it or buff it, that is the question


Command Cards

Hekarti’s Blessing
Slow-2
Remove up to 2 empowerment tokens from ally dark elves disks. If you do, remove activation tokens from that disks.

A powerful card to improve offensive movement. Be sure that you can empower your unit again to improve the value of this command card. Anyways this card can combine with all kind of disks, Cold One knight could be reallyfavoured by this effect.

Word of Pain
Steady-3
Dark Elf Caster: Deal 1 true damage to a disk within medium range and empower a disk engaged with it. If target is removed as a casualty by this card damage, you may repeat this effect one single time again.

Another form to empower your disks. This card can be a really good option to replace cards like push or inspire. It can be more powerfull thank to the damage point and the chance to do its effect twice.

Black Lotus Poison
Devious-3
Dark elf disk: Place a poison token on each enemy disk engaged with this disk.

By its nature, dark elves will want to be part of big melee engagements with a good numbers of enemy disks to kill. This command card will leave the victyms you couldn't kill ready to be hunted for next round.



Specific Abilities

Sisters of Slaughter: Hero disks have not recruitment cost (its number is named recruitment points) so this disk does not empower itself if it engages a Hero disk.


What do you think about new army? Do they meet your expectations? One of the most important aspect from warhammer official lore that i wanted to put in this army is the individualistic trait of dark elves where selfishness and personal achievements are the cradle of their society. In my experience they are really difficult to play, you will have too many options each round to do and only one will be the correct one.

I hope you enjoy playing with them and give me your feedback, I'm sure that some disks will need a balance patch but i need your help to know it.

Note: The files are in .jpg. The disks and command cards are in same size to originals in Warhammer Diskwars. The files are separate in small disk/ medium, large and some small disk/ heroes and command cards. I suggest to print 2 copies of small disks file, 2 copies of medium, large and some small disks file and 1 copies of the last file to have full army with two sides.

In previous chapter: Malekith goes deep Skaven army silencing half of their units, among them war lightning cannon. Malus Darkblade obliterate skaven right flank while rat ogre endanger dark elves right flank. Shaiather lost his two Heroes and Sryogsothoth has one alive with a wound. Both players are tied on victory points. Everything can happen.

Skavens play Intimidate (steady) versus Word of Pain (steady) of Dark elves.
Skavens go first thanks to initiative token.

· Sryogsothoth's Turn: Queek uses Intimidate on Cauldron of blood that flips pinning rest of all Dark elves disks. Then Queek engage cauldron of blood. Rattling gun moves and shoot against a Witch elves disk, it does a critical hit so Witch elves receives 2 damages and an activation token. War lightning cannon does its stellar performance, it hits on closest witch elves disk, doing 4 damage to it and spread damage to cauldron of blood rolling a six on blue dice. After this, Skavens roll 2, this shot don't spread again. Witch elves are removed as a casualty. Unfortunately chaos result make War lightning cannon iflicts 4 damage on rattling gun disk, removing it as a casualty. This shot don't spread because Skavens roll 1.

· Shaiather's turn: All Dark elves disks are pinned and there are not Caster disks over the board. Orange player must skip their turn without doing anything.

Turns 2 to 4 are skipped. Players cannot continue playing command cards because all their disks are activated or pinned.

Scrum 1) Cauldron of blood is pinned by Queek.

Queek does 6 damages (base attack strength) to Cauldron of blodd that it does 3 damages (base counter strength) to Queek.
Queek has toughness 5, it takes 3 damages during combat. Cauldron of blood has toughness 6, it had 4 damages before battle and it takes 6 damages during combat.

Coauldron of blood is removed as a casualty.
Queek removes his wound thanks to his passive skill.

War lightning cannon did damage to every side, Intimidate denied entire turn of Dark elves and Cauldron of blood has fall.
Now all has been done. There are no more turns to do. There are no second opportunities. The battle has finished and all is on fire. Who will have more victory points? Let's take a look.

Sryogsothoth has slain both heroes: Malekith gives him 18vp (35/2) and Malus Darkblade 17vp (34/2). About small disks, Skavens defeated x1 Witch elves 7vp, x2 Sisters of Slaughter 12vp (6x2) and x1 Sorceress 7 vp. Skavens killed a large disk at the end of the last round: Cauldron of blood gives to it 15vp. Sryogsothoth scored 76 Victory Points.

Shaiather has slain a single enemy hero, Lord Skrolk gives to him 17vp (34/2). In the side of small disks, Dark elves receives x3 Skaven Slaves 12vp (4x3) and x2 Plague monk 16vp (8x2). Orange player killed some medium disks: x2 Rattling gun 18vp (9x2) and a rat ogre 11vp. Shaiather scored 74 Victory Points.

After counts all victory points in an adjusted game, next to lose the first part of the match and comeback in the last two rounds... we can say, with a difference of 2 victory points in the score that THE WINNER IS... Sryogsothoth!

And this is the end of this match. Roles in game was determined at the early of the game, with two very different fixed strategies. Take position on mines was a hard mistake for Dark elves still they won first part of the game. Cauldron of blood felt like a pinball ball, bouncing back and forward as result of intimidate command card that was countered, in part, by Hekarti's blessed. Left flank was for Dark elves but Skavens armies contained right flank while its ranged damage slowly erased enemy troops. Everything was settled to Skavens' flavour thanks to initiative and the Intimidate card.


Thanks you to get so far and I hope you enjoyed this game. I think we can saw in this match a good representation of both armies: chaos of skaven and its unpredictable units plus a little of the main empowerment Dark elves mechanic.

There are some Dark elves disks that will change and some disk that you didn't see yet. Dark elves: Army Spotlight will be available this Monday, December 13, so keep an eye on this blog. I will be glad to see you all on that date.

From The Battlefield: Shaiather (Dark Elves) Vs Sryogsothoth (Skavens) Part II

Hello again. Here we go with the second part of the match between Shaiather (Dark elves) and Sryogsothoth (Skavens). In this part many things will happen and chapters will be a little bit longer. Hope you enjoy it. I would like to know if you like this kind of post and what would you change.

In previous chapter: Both armies got positioned. Skavens played around the farm trying to protect their ranged damage dealers while Dark elves opted to a fully ofensive strategy. Only one skirmish has been occurred, where sisters of slaughter dying in favour of kill a rattling gun disk and do a wound to Lord Skrolk.

Skavens play Crack's Call (steady) versus Cloaked in Darkness (bold) of Dark elves.
Skavens go first according initiative order.

· Sryogsothoth's Turn: Its ranged damage dealers can't shot because enemy played Cloaked in Darkness. Lord Skrolk use Crack's call to the mine again taking same result as before, 4 in the blue dice, so it does 2 damage to enemy disks in this terrain. Taking advantage of this, Lord skrolk use Magic to deal 3 damages to Malekith, this couse him a wound. A Skaven Slaves disk move to pin War hydra and inmobilize it. Rattling gun moves forward but it can't shot.

· Shaiather's turn: Malekith goes into the Skaven's thickness to void War Lightning Cannon and other disks around thanks to his passive. Cauldron of blood goes through the center getting a good position to cover all battle fronts. Witch elves on the right goes for Skavens slaves that is pinning war hydra and do 1 damage for impact to it.

· Sryogsothoth's Turn: Lord Skrolk use Intimidate on Cauldron of Blood moving it back pinning Malus Darkblade. Queek moves crossing his line to embattle against Malekith. Two plague monk moves to the front, one of them, the right one, pinning witch elves adding more bulk to the quarrel.

· Shaiather's turn: Han Ganneth Executioners takes right flank to prevent the fatal fate of witch elves, pinning last Plague monk. Sorceress moves to the left and use Word of pain over Cauldron of Blood, it does one damage and empower it. Last witch elves disk takes the middle of army after doing one impact damage to war hydra to empower herself, war hydra fails again and don't heals itself.

Skavens play Push (devious) versus Hekarti's blessing (slow) of Dark elves.
Skavens go first according initiative order.

· Sryogsothoth's Turn:
Skaven Slaves disk moves to cover its left flank, close to the action, looking for a next round position. Rat ogres want to join in the big scrum. Three moves are not enought to move far so blue player try to increase his movement rolling 3 black dice but. Its blind fury does that it end pinning War lightning cannon.

· Shaiather's Turn: Thanks to Hekarti's blessing, cauldron of blood and witch elves can removes its activation tokens in exchange for being disempowered. Cauldron of blood moves forward pinning Skavens slaves. Witch Elves moves to right flank pinning the last Skaven Slaves disk. In its path, witch elves inflicts 1 impact damage to war hydra that heals completely thanks to his passive and one six in the dice. Witch elves needs to do 1 impact damage to Har Ganeth Executioners for pin enemy disk with its movement. Witch elves does 1 impact damage to Skaven Slaves.

Skavens play Vermintide (slow) versus Black Lotus Poison (devious) of Dark elves.
Dark Elves go first according initiative order.

· Shaiather's Turn: It is Malus Darkblade time, this powerful hero charges versus Lord Skrolk and a Plague monk doing 2 impact damage to both of them. Then Malus Darkblade use mobile to use his active skill, removing empower token from witch elves and placing it on himself. Then Malekith use Black Lotus poison and place a poison token on all disks he is embattleying against.

· Sryogsothoth's Turn: Blue player skips his turn. All his disks are activated or pinned and he think use vermintide is not worth in this situation.

· Scrum 1) Plague monks are pinned by Har Ganeth Executioners and are pinning Witch elves. Skaven Slaves are pinned by Witch elves and cauldron of blood while they are pinning War hydra.

- A) Plague monks are pinned by Har Ganeth Executioners and are pinning Witch elves.

Har Ganeth Executioners does 5 damages (base attack strength) to Plague monks and Plague monk does 3 damages (base counter strength) to Har Ganeth Executioners.
Har Ganeth Executioner hasve toughness 5 it had 1 damages before combat and it takes 3 damages during combat. Plague monks have toughness 4 and it takes 5 damages during combat.

Plague Monks are removed as a casualty so they can't continue fighting.

- B) Skaven Slaves are pinned by Cauldron of blood and Witch elves and are pinning War Hydra.

Cauldron of blood and Witch elves each do 3 damages(base attack strength) to Skaven slaves while Skaven slaves do 2 damages (base counter strength by fear + 1 for being damaged/passive skill) to Witch elves.
Witch elves has toughness 4, it takes 2 damages during combat. Skaven Slaves has toughness 3 and it takes 6 damages during combat.

Skaven Slaves are removed as a casualty so they can't continue fighting.

· Scrum 2) Skaven Slaves are engaged to Witch elves.

Witch elves do 3 damages (base attack strength) to Skaven slaves while Skaven slaves do 1 damage (base counter strength by fear) to Witch elves.
Witch elves has toughness 4, it takes 1 damages during combat. Skaven Slaves has toughness 3, it had 1 damage before and it takes 3 damages during combat.

Skaven Slaves are removed as a casualty.

· Scrum 3) Malekith is pinned by Queek while he is pinning Skaven slaves and Rattling gun.

Queek does 6 damages (base attack strength) to Malekith and Malekith does 3 damages (3 base counter strength) to Queek.
Queek has toughness 5, it takes 3 damages during combat. Malekith has toughness 4, it had a wound before fight and it takes 6 damages during combat.

Malekith recives a second wound and is removed as a casualty so he can't continue fighting.

· Scrum 4) Lor Skrolk and Plague monks are engaged to Malus Darkblade.

Malus Darkblade does 6 damages(base attack strength + 1 empowerment) to Lord Skrolk and Plague monks (Frenzy is given by Cauldron of blood) while Lord Skrolk does 4 damages (base counter strength + 1 empowerment) and Plague monks does 3 damages (base counter strength) to Malus Darkblade.
Malus Darkblade has toughness 4 (base(+ 1 empowerment - 1 Lord Skrolk skill)), He had 2 damages before combat and he takes 7 damages during combat. Lord Skrolk has toughness 5 (base + 1 empowerment), he had a wound and 2 damages before combat and he takes 6 damages during combat. Plague monks has toughness 4, it had 2 damages before combat and it takes 6 damages during combat.

Lord Skrolk and Plague monks are removed as a casualty and Malus Darkblade receives a Wound

After this big melee fight and action-packed turns looks like Dark elves are winning in points. One hero of each side has been falled in combat and other Skavens' hero was touched with 3 damages. In the other hand, Malus darkblade received a Wound. Skavens have his war machine pinned while Dark elves have their in the center of the action. has everything been decided yet?
Both armies are face to face each other. Tension is in the air...

· Sryogsothoth's Turn: Skaven Slaves has enought courage to pin Malus darkblade and cauldron of blood, this disk build a bridge that allows Queek maneuver crossing above Malus Darkblade and Cauldron of blood without embattled their, and reach the Sorceress. Rat ogres roll two black dices to increase its movement by 2, whit this flavoured result, rat ogres can march away and pin Har Ganeeth executioners and all witch elves disks.[/COLOR]

· Shaiather's turn: Orange player has almost all of his units locked so he doesn't have much chance of do big moves. War Hydra moves over rat ogres trying to save Dark elves squad looking for next melee phase.

Skavens play push (Steady) versus Word of pain (Steady) of Dark elves.
Skavens go first thanks to initiative token.

· Sryogsothoth's Turn: A rangered powerfull turn. War lighning cannon shoot Malus Darkblade taking a critical hit result. Malus Darkblade takes 4 damage plus an activation token, that means that he takes a wound and he is removed a casualty. War lightnin cannon rolls 2 in the blue dice, it can't continue with its effect. Close to the bigger scrum, Rattling gun use its range to shot Witch elves, with a critical hit on one of his three dices, witch elves recives 2 damages and an activation token. Queek empower himself with Push.

· Shaiather's turn: Lose initiative last turn was a hard strike to Dark elves. Sorceress uses Word of pain on Qeek that receives 1 damage, the empowerment effect of the card is evaded because Queek is alreay empowered.

Turn 3 and 4 are skipped. Players cannot continue playing command cards because all their disks are activated or pinned.

[b]Scrum 1) Rat ogre is pinned by War Hydra and it is pinning Har ganet executioners and two Witch elves.


War hydra do 4 damages (base attack strength) to Rat ogre that does 4 damages (base counter strength) to War hydra. War Hydra can't heal itself. Then Rat ogre does 6 damages to one of Witch elves. Both Witch elves and Har gannet executioners each do 1 damage (base counter strength reduced to 1 by fear) to Rat ogre.
War Hydra has toughness 12, it takes 2 damages during combat (Resistant to physic damage). Rat ogre has toughness 6, it takes 7 damages during combat. A witch elves disk has toughness 4, it takes 6 damage during combat.

Rat ogres and one of the Witch elves are removed as casualty.

Scrum 2) Cauldron of blood is pinned by Skaven Slaves.

Skaven Slaves do 3 damages (base attack strength) to Cauldron of blodd that it does 3 damages (base counter strength) to Skaven Slaves.
Skaven Slaves has toughness 3, it takes 3 damages during combat. Cauldron of blood has toughness 6, it takes 3 damages during combat.

Skaven Slaves are removed as a casualty.

Scrum 3) Sorceress is pinned by Queek.

Queek does 7 damages (base attack strength + 1 empowerment) to Sorceress that does 3 damages (base counter strength) to Queek.
Queek has toughness 6 (base + 1 empowerment), he had 3 damages before combat and he takes 3 damages during combat. Sorceress has toughness 3, She takes 7 damages during combat.

This was an awesome round for Skavens that they have been recovered a little. Range damage dealers has been started to do their job and rat ogre worked good under pressure. Skaven slaves are Mvp for beeing a bridge to Queek's sorceress huntting. The bad side is that this Hero has been received a wound. Dark elves have no heroes on the board but they still have any powerfull disks.

From The Battlefield: Shaither (Dark Elves) Vs Sryogsothot (Skavens) Part I

Hello everyone! While I am heating up for the new Army Spotlight: Dark elves, i want bring to you a game that I played with a friend for testing new disks. I think this section is quit cool to all of you that want to know about new dark elves disks and for all people that have some questions about some skavens disks or any rules of warhammer: Diskwar. In my personal opinion, I like this match and considerer it really interesting so I hope you enjoy it.

Before you read this post
· This post is just the first part of the game: Army, Setup phase and the 1st round. Rest parts of the game will upload in a few days so if you like it, leave a thumb up, comment and stay tunned to this blog.

· Due to the limitations of bgg's blog tools, it was a hard work to organized "From the Battlefield" section to be a result I am happy with it. I did what I could, if you want to see an image bigger you can click on it to see it in the gallery in another window.

· Some disks showing in this match are not the final version and can change in the future Army Spotlight: Dark elves. That post will be upload a few days after last part of this battle report

· There are not Scenario and Objective cards.
· Carnage: At the end of the 4th round each player counts recruitment cost of the enemy casualties (heroes counts half of his recruitment points rounding up).
Player with more points is the winner of the game.

This Skaven army is a perfect balance of ranged damage and melee power, Sryogsothoth can adapt to almost any strategy. The weakest point of this army is has a single Caster for a half of command cards are caster spells.
Leading Skavens army we have Lord Skrolk with 34/34 recruitment points and Queek with 33/34 recruitment points, this single point is enought to snatch initiative to the other player.

This Dark elves army was built for an offensive play. War hydra can tank big amounts of damage while dark elves infantry go over enemy lines creating the chaos supported by a powerful cauldron of blood. Attack is the best form of defence.
In front of this army we have Malekith 35/35 and Malus Darkblade 34/34. Lose initiative is a hard strike to this army.

Deployment Cards(L): In the opposite order to the initiative, Shaither (DE) pick first. He places "All in" in the right-middle of his deployment edge trying to slow down rats army potential and looking at an aggressive start. Then Sryoggsothoth (SK) picks feint to insure himself the best deployment position. "Detachment" for orange player following by "Dispersion" for blue player, these choices complete their clearly strategies: Skavens take a defensive position while dark elves try to assault them before take too range damage.

Terrain (L): Shaiather (DE) place "Hills" to cover himself versus the range damage thinking that "Lake" and "Swamp" are not worth it versus "Feint" deployment Card, denying "high ground" to Skaven war machine. Sryogsothoth (Sk) place "Swamp" cover "All in" deployment zone on an effort to calm down bloodthirsty dark elves. "Mine" is the chose for Dark Elves that puts his first disk (Sisters of slaughter) in the battlefield. Then Skavens plays the "Farm", place where it takes around the whole battle.

Disk Deployment (R): In Deployment Phase everything is in the same line. After a 1) War Hydra, Blue moves his deployment zone close to the Farm and far away from the "block sight" of Hills, He puts his first disk 2) Warp Lighthning Cannon pinning the Farm. Then they alternate between: 3) Sisters of Slaughter, 4) Rattling Gun, 5) Cauldron Of Blood, 6) Skaven Slaves, 7) Witch Elves, 8)Skaven Slaves, 9) Witch Elves, 10) Queek, 11) Sorceress, 12) Lord Skrolk. Orange player ends placing his Heroes 13) Malus Darkblade and 14) Malekith and the final pool disk 15) Har Ganeth Executioners. Skavens player have five disk in the reserve: Rat ogres, two plague monks and another rattling gun and Skaven Slaves disks.

Skavens play Push (steady) versus Black Lotus Poison (devious) of Dark elves.
Skavens go first according initiative order.

· Sryogsothoth's Turn: Warp Lightning Cannon Shot Malekith trying to cause him his first wound, one of the shots don't impact and the other scatter to the War Hydra, it misses so far. A Rat ogre and plague monk disk appears as reinforcement for next Round. lord Skrolk empower a Skaven Slaves disk with Push.

· Shaiather's turn: Dark elves begin to move quickly in Skaven lines direction. In mines, malus darkblade overlapp the entrance while one of the sisters of slaughther join the other one. Har Ganeth Executioners go around the swamp.

Skavens play Intimidate (steady) versus Word of Pain (steady) of Dark elves.
Skavens go first thanks to initiative token.

· Sryogsothoth's Turn: Rattling Gun and a plage monk disk are introduce as a reinforcement. The empowered Skaven Slaves takes the iniciative and start to form the wall covering his army backline.

· Shaiather's turn: Malekith takes the front in an offensive positión. Sorceress move closest to the thickness Dark Elves army to use Word of Pain on one of the Sister of Slaughter disk, doing 1 true damage and empowering her. One Witch Elves disk move forward charging agains ally War Hydra doing it 1 point of impact damage, War hydra can't regenerate itself but its blood is enought to empower Witch Elves.

Skavens play Crack's Call (devious) versus Cloaked in Darkness (bold) of Dark elves.
Skavens go first according initiative order.

· Sryogsothoth's Turn: Lord Skrolk moving taking a postion where he can obliterate dark elves disks that are in mines with Crack's call, luck is not by his side and as a result of 4 end doing 2 damage to all disk in this terrain. Rattling Gun cover a good distance but he has not enought range to shot anything. The last disk of Skaven reinforcement pool enter the battlefield on the front of the army.

· Shaiather's Turn: It's moving times, War Hydra goes in the right flank taking on front position. The other Witch Elves moves to the center to support in the future the position which is necessary. Cauldrom of Blood goes to the middle too looking for position where it can cover most of the Dark Elves Army.

Skavens play Vermintide (slow) versus Hekarti's Blessing (slow) of Dark elves.
Skavens go first thanks to initiative token.

· Sryogsothoth's Turn: Queek goes close to Lord Skrolk defending the farm, the jewel of skavens in this war. The last Skaven Slaves disk cover the opposite side of the farm to complete a really good wall versus left flank of Dark Elves.

· Shaiather's Turn: First offensive play of the game. Thanks to Hekarti's Blessing, The two sisters Of Slaughters can charge toguether to bully enemy army pinning one of the Skaven's Hero and one of the range damage disks, a rattling gun disk. Thanks to pinning the rattling gun disk (cost 9), this sister of slaughter can empower herself.

Scrum 1) Rattling gun is pinned by Sisters of Slaughter.

Sisters of slaughter does 5 damages (4 base attack strength + 1 empowerment) to rattling gun while rattling gun does 2 damages (base counter strength) to Sisters of slaughter.
Sisters of Slaughter has toughness 4 (4 base(+ 1 empowerment) (- 1 Lord Skrolk passive)), it had 2 damages before combat and it takes 2 damages during combat. Rattling gun has toughness 4 and it takes 5 damages during combat.

Both of disks are removed as a casualty.

Scrum 2) Lord Skrolk is pinned by Sisters of slaughter.

Sisters of slaughter does 4 damages (4 base attack strength) to Lord Skrolk while Lord skrolk does 3 damages (base counter strength) to Sisters of slaughter.
Sisters of Slaughter has toughness 3 (4 base - 1 Lord Skrolk passive) It had 1 damage before combat and it takes 3 damages during combat. Lord Skrolk has toughne 4, it takes 4 damages during combat.

Sisters of Slaughter are removed as a casualty and Lord Skrolk takes a Wound.

At the end of the day this is the result. The first combat let the board in a balance position. Skavens lose a potential range damage dealer and its single caster, Lord Skrolk, was weakened. Dark elves lose two potential disruption disks.

Skavens: Balance Patch 30/09/20

I know I'm super late, but finally there are the first balance patch and the fortunate are: Skavens. The objective from this patch is keep the essence of the cards and disks as possible as i can but nerfing or buffing weaker or stronger disk and command cards. Changes are from a little change increasing or decreasing its basic stadistics to a big change adding or switching its special ability. This post will be not the only one balance patch to the skavens, so some changes can be reversed or other disks and cards can be modify in the future. For the momment this are the balanced disks and command cards.

Small Disks

Giant Rats
- Its attack strength has been increased from 2 to 3.
- Its counter strength has been increased from 2 to 3.
- Its toughness has been increased from 2 to 3.

Commentary: Its ability has potential but his basic values makes that it didn't represent a real threat ness alone. Increasing its attack and counter strength values will make that this disk can kill disks that enemy is trying to protect and increasing its toughness will make this disk less vulnerable to range attacks.

Plague Moks
- It recruitment cost has been increased from 7 to 8.

Commentary: It potential is too high to its recruitment cost. Increasing its recruitment cost to 8 will make that this disk will be more balanced compared with other similar disks.




Medium Disks

Rat Ogres
- Its special ability has been removed:
"Before doing any action with this disk, roll a black dice. If it rolls chaos, move this disk in a straight line to the nearest ally it is not pinning. place an activation token on this disk."
- New special ability has been added:
Before moving this disk, roll up to 3 black dice. This disk gain 1 movement for each dice rolled. If it rolls Chaos Wheel, move this disk in straight line to the nearest ally it is not pinning. Place an activation token on this disk.

Commentary: Its special ability has been changed to offers more control to disk owner. Now this disk offers the possibility to skip the special ability penalty at the cost of less movement but it give a nice risk/reward option.


Largue Disks

Screaming Bell
- Its special ability has been removed:
Loses 1 movement for every wound token on this disk.
- Its special ability has been removed:
Focus ability: Roll a black dice, if it rolls chaos takes a wound. Empower 3 skavens small disks within medium range.
- New special ability has been added:
Focus ability: Empower 3 skavens disks within short range (roll 1 black dice), within medium range (roll 2 black dice), or within large range (roll 3 black dice). For each Chaos Wheel, this disk suffers 1 wound.

Commentary: In spite of special ability was strong, this disk felt too slow. With new special ability the risk/reward is improve, decreasing risk if the player is a good commander.

Warp Lightning Cannon
- Its recruitment cost has been reduced from 12 to 10.
- Text of its special ability has been modified a little to be more clear.

Commentary:taking into account that this disk includes a penalty into its special ability, its cost is too much high. Decreasing its recruitment cost to 10 will make that this disk will be more balanced compared with other similar siege disks.



Command Cards

Skitterleap
- New effect has been added to its special ability:
Target disk cannot be activated with this card.

Commentary: I had this card in the spotlight from the beginning. I don't want to nerf it too much so that it maintains its essence. I hope this little change will make that this command card more balanced. I'll keep an eye on this card for the future.

Crack’s Call
- Its damage was increased from D6-3 to D6-2.

Commentary: With D6-3 damage this card is pretty useless. That's why damage has been increased to D6-2. Simple but effective change.




Minor Changes

- Slave rats was renamed to Skaven Slaves for a better translation. Thanks to Sybaris to report this.


All change i made are inspired in my own experience playing and seeing my friends play this army. I hope I have hit the balance a little bit more to make experience more enjoyable. I will waiting your feedback about this army and the others to the next balance patch..

Hello again! I hope that all of you are ok. First of all i want to apologise to all of you that was attentive for new content for not having informed about this blog state. it has been Chaos times, probably it has been Nurgle influenced times, and i have been forced to appart this project for a time. Lizardmen: Army Spotlight

Some time has passed since I upload the last post. I was a little bit busy but I'm back to bring you an incredible new race: Lizardmen.
I thought about this army to offer the most complete play-style ever. On this race you will find a wide range of possibilities, will you play an army based on powerful caster and their own personal guard? Or maybe will you prefer brute force to tramble the enemy backline going over the first enemy line? Perhaps will you want to use poison combined with your cunning and agility to harass your enemies? With lizardmen, you will can play these and more strategies. You will never bored while enemies will fear them. Let's see what disks are behind lizardmen's files.

New Token

Blot Toad:
This token is not removed at the end of the round. When a disk with Blot Toad token is removed as casualty, place the Blot Toad token on the nearest enemy disk within short range to the disk removed as casualty. If there are no disk, remove this Blot Toad Token.

This token exist in warhammer fantasy game and i thought including it in Warhammer Diskwars could be so funny. Check Ripperdactyl Riders disk to know more.


Heroes

This disk only can suffer 1 wound in each melee phase.

According to legends, those who have white crest, scales or skin are blessed by the Ancestors. Gor-Rok is almost the perfect tank, his resistant to range atacks and his powerful ability makes him a hard to kill objective.

Hero. Caster. Priest. Magic 3.

When this disk use Magic, this disk can use Magic against another disk within short range.

The first of the Slann Mage-Priests begotten in the world. Lord Kroak have a really nice recruitment number. His ability is not easy to trigger but when his possition is good and it is combine with Magic Energy Stockpile command card, damages are invaluable.


Small Disks

Skink Cohort (4)
Infantry. Poison.

They are smaller than saurus, but no less dangerous for it. Their Statistics are not really good but you can play their with Leaping Strike command card to make some casualties or you can poison your enemies to finish them with some impact disks. Anyways, their cost is 4, so they can increase the bulk of your army.

At the beginning, this disk had 5 recruitment points but i thought 4 was more balanced even though it have Poison.

Saurus Warriors (6)
infantry.

A solid minion disk. Saurus Warriors combined with Leaping Strike command card can kill most of the disk in the game.

Saurus Leader (8)
Character. Relentless.

While this disk is engaged with at least one enemy disk, all ally "Saurus" disks gains Relentless.

Saurus Veteran Warriors are named Saurus Leaders. A Saurus Leader shout is enought to order on the other side of the battlfield. With Saurus Leader's ability you can pass over enemy defenders and atack weakest units by surprise. Combine this disk with Jaguar Standard command to power this disk impact.

Jungle Swarm (8)
Monster. Strider.

Place a Poison Token on each enemy disk engaged with this disk.

An unusual disruption disk. Try to pinn all enemies you can and prepare them to die in the next round.

Maybe in the future i change movement from 6 to 7 or 8.

Temple Guards (7)

While within short range of at least one lizardmen Priest, this disk gains 1 AS and 1 CS.

When war is close, Temple Guard come to protect Slann Mage-Priests. Temple Guards are similar in statistics to Saurus Warriors but his recruitment cost is 7, it is one more point than them. i think this point is justified by ability.

Some of my ideas to balance this disk is give them 5 points of resistance instead of 4.


Medium Disks

Caster. Priest. Magic 2.

The Favorite servant of Ancestors. Slann Mage-Priest are the first non-hero medium caster disk. If you like to play range disks you will enjoy to make armies with this old creatures and the power Magic Energy Stockpile.

Cavalry. Missile. Scout. Mobile. Flying.

Medium/2 Dices/2 PD

Another disruption disk to Lizardmen race. Nice range, normal damage and over all, Flying. An interesting disk, isn't it?

I know that this disk is more powerful than others disruption disk with the similar recruitment cost, maybe in the future I will need to nerf this.

Ripperdactyl Riders (10)
Cavalry. Flying. Impact 2.

Before the first activation phase of the game, place a blot toad Token on a deployed enemy disk.
Adiotonally,this disk can inflict AS and DS to all enemy disk with blot toad Token engaged with this disk.

Well, maybe this disk have a weird ability but I think it could be really funny. This disk is destinated to play as an impact disk to explode all his potential.

I took too long to think about this disk. In Warhammer Fantasy game, this guys have a similar ability and i tryed to take it to this game. I have in mind so many change to this disk... i'll have my eyes on it.

Kroxigor (11)
Monster. Relentless.

For each enemy engaged with this disk at the end of his movement, remove 1 activation token from "Skink" disks within medium range.

This cocodrile creature can make than skinks armies will fight with the streghts and courage they have not. This disk is the perfect complement tank to your harasser Skinks armies, i let in yours hand all his power.


Largue Disks

Monster. Missile. Impact 3. Relentless. Mobile

During a range atack, this disk ignores Rough and Stealth keywords.

Wow, look at this disk. I have no comments to describe how powerfull is this disk. His impact damage and his range power are awesome, this disk is a Monster, literally. Raze the battlefield with this old alive killing machine.


Command Cards

Magic Energy Stockpile
Slow-2
Lizarmen Priests activated with this command gain Magic 1.

Power your ranged damage casters with this simple but effective card.

Jaguar Standard
Steady-3
Each lizardmen disk activted with this command card gain Strider and movement 1.

Lizardmen are used to moving in Lustria's jungle, this card is the proof of that. This card combine with Relentless will make true all movements you want.

Apotheosis
Devious-3
Lizardmen Priest: Target lizardmen disk within medium range will only remove as casualty if, during the final phase, this disk have enought damage and wounds to consider a casualty.

Lizardmen are really tough and this magic spell will make you inmortal at least till the end of the round. I think that the best way to use Apotheosis is with an impact disk as target. This ability will secure that the objetive will defend and atack this round.



Specific Abilities

Ripperdactyl Riders: You can't inflicts damage two times at the same target with this ability. Also you can't use Atack Strenght to damage a disk that is atacking you as same as you cant use Counter Strenght to damage a disk you are atacking.

Lord Kroak: Target of the normal magic atack can't be the same of the adiotonal target within short range.


I hope you all like the new disks and command cards and i hope that was under your expectations. I animate you to test this new army and leave your comments about your experiences. Also you can ask me for some question about the new disks and help me with some english translation corrections. With all your feedback i will make some correction and balance patch to this army and other aspects to this unofficial expansion project.

Note: The files are in .jpg. The disks and command cards are in same size to originals in Warhammer Diskwars. The files are separate in small disk, medium, large and heroe disks, tokens and command cards. I suggest to print 2 copies of small disks file, 2 copy of medium, large and heroe disk file and 1 copies of the last file to have full army with two sides.

How to make cardboard disks and commands cards

This time I’m going to release this category with a post where I’m showing you some tips and how I print and make my own cardboard disks and commands cards to look as similar to the original disks as much as possible with files from this project.

Before all, these are a few sizes you should know from the original disks and cards:

- Small disks are 53 mm in diameter

- Medium Disks are 63 mm in diameter

- Large disks are 82 mm in diameter

- All disks are 2 mm thick

- All cards are approximately 63,5 x 88,9 mm in size.

All files that you can download from this project have the original size of each component, so if you print the files unmodified, the only you have to consider is that all disks are 2 mm thick.

Note: I found a problem with the size of command cards I uploaded in Skavens: Army Spotlight. I uploaded new files fixing the problem in the date of this post.


Materials

Of materials, obviously all disks are made with cardboard, of course we will use cardboard too but… what kind of cardboard do I suggest? Well, on my experience building board game prototypes, I always, and I recommend, work with a cardboard called Grey Cardboard. This kind of cardboard is made from recovered paper and it have a really good smooth surface in addition to being rigid. You can find it in various sizes (you can choose whichever you want, all depends how many disks you will want to made) and in various thicknesses (here there are not discussion, buy one with 2 mm thick). You probably can purchase grey cardboard in any art shops. To be honest, grey cardboard is a little bit difficult to cut but results are worth it.


Print

Printing is a whole world, different inks, different papers, different printers but most of the times the only decision you will have at your fingertips is kind of paper you will used. Well, I tested printing the disks in some papers and this is my opinion based on the results:

Note: I think is better to use a low weight paper because we will paste it in a 2mm thick cardboard surface.

- Satin and glossy paper is not a good option. It reflect too much light on its surface (this make you can’t see the disks when you are playing with a high light) and texture is far to the original disk. I only found this paper from 100 grams.

- Matte paper is really similar to the original disk. Light don’t reflect on its surface and texture is the most similar to the original one. The matter is that I didn’t found matte paper with a low weight, the least weight matte paper I found was 150 grams. This is the most expensive paper of this three.

- Common paper is not a bad idea and was the paper I used to print my own disks. It reflect very little light on its surface and texture is close to the original material. I found the paper from 80 grams and it is the cheapest of all papers.

Note: I had some troubles with the sizes in some print shops, some software can modified the sizes of the original files. Make a test printing a command cards file and compare it with an original disk or command card before continue printing.


How to make Cardboard Disks

1. Cut all paper disks.

2. Paste half of printed paper disks in grey cardboard surface with good paper glue (if you don't use good glue, edges can peel off the cardboard and damage the disk surface during games). Let it dry.

3. Next, cut cardboard disk following the line of printed disk pasted on the surface.

4. The last step is paste the same paper disk in cardboard disk with the image in the opposite direction of the other side image. You can check the image of the left to paste the disk in the correct way.

How to make Comand Cards

Here is more quickly than cardboard disks. I recommend have card sleeves. Cut paper cards and place them, inside card sleeve, over an official command card that you aren’t using in the game you are playing. Thus, no one will know what card you are playing in each activation phase.
