When I started collecting Star Wars Miniatures I always envisioned large tabletop battles. The battle of Hoth has appeal for many Star Wars fans, but I always liked Episode VI most. (Until Rogue One came out! Now EP VI is my second most favorite SW movie.)
Not to float off-topic, I started making some scenery specificly for Star Wars tabletop battles. And no, I'm not going to buy SW Legion. The business decision to make their game 35mm instead of keeping it compatible with the previous 28mm range killed the momentum. I don't feel like buying another range of the same mini's.
In my garden shed I have been making some wooden bases and drilled some holes in them to hold nails. These nails will be used to keep in position small branches from a real tree.
I've cut these branches from a tree and let them dry out for quite some time. They have a diameter of 3 to 4 cm.
The foliage selected from aquarium decoration makes the scenery pieces more forest-like. They now serve as difficult terrain.
I'll be playing a 28mm tabletop battle between Ewoks and Scout Troopers anytime soon using SW Miniatures game rules (replacing squares with inches for moevement). (And activating squads instead of single mini's...)
Miniature Games Construction Yard
In this blog I'll talk about various miniature games. Custom miniatures and minor conversions are my favorite pastime. I'll cover scenery making and painting too.
The WIP you'll see here is all about Necromunda, Epic 40,000, Warhammer Fantasy 5th Edition, Warmaster, Warhammer 40K 3rd Edition and Lord ot Rings.

While you're all waiting for my battle report about Orcs versus High Elves, I present you a report that I have written some time ago.
Ahsoka Tano and Kanan Jarrus...
...versus Darth Vader!
Scenario: The Fulcrum Rendez-vous
The rebels must handover an important data disk to Ahsoka Tano. Unfortunatelly, Darth Vader is aware of this transfer and has set up an intercept mission under orders of Moff Tarkin.
Kanan Jarrus starts to the left of the map and Ahsoka's squad (see army lists below) starts at the right. The mission is a succes for the rebel player(s) when the data disk token reaches Ahsoka. The dark side wins if Ahsoka is killed or the data disk is intercepted.
Finally, the disc is in Ahsoka's hands. A victory for the Rebels!
Army Lists
Corran Horn counts as Kanan Jarrus
These four squads make it possible to play this scenario with up to 4 players.

My laserprinter has been printing some A4 puzzle pieces. Glued together they form a new challenge for my Star Wars Miniatures.
These custom maps are actually quite good
Great quality images and cool strategic options. Can't wait to play on these!

Past friday I visited the boardgame fair Essen SPIEL 2016 in Germany. While it's not a miniatures wargaming oriented fair, there are still a lot of interesting things to see. Here's my small selection. But offcourse there was many more to buy, see and play.
A very nice Warhammer 40,000 display.

One year ago I received some nice prepainted Star Wars miniatures for my birthday. One year later, the same rules apply.
No, I'm not 9 years old
PS: This really IS a cool set. It has a cartoonish style. Well designed by the Lego engineers.

A different kind of miniatures today... I guess I'll never grow tired of making Lego.
There's a great advantage to these Star Wars miniatures: they come prepainted!

Some months ago I started collecting various 1/72 scale Micro Machines Star Wars characters.
I was inspired to do this by
Now work has begun to make my own episode VI armies:
The metal bases were very cheap. Only 0,01 or 0,02 Euro each!
The last two Stormtroopers were siamese twins I had to cut apart with a sharp knife. Operation succeeded succesful!
Some sand on the bases and paint-repairs and I'm finished.
