Miniature Games Construction Yard
In this blog I'll talk about various miniature games. Custom miniatures and minor conversions are my favorite pastime. I'll cover scenery making and painting too.
The WIP you'll see here is all about Necromunda, Epic 40,000, Warhammer Fantasy 5th Edition, Warmaster, Warhammer 40K 3rd Edition and Lord ot Rings.

I am using these old Imperial Guard metal miniatures as a Necromunda gang. I really like how the paintjob worked out. My inspiration was the uniform of American soldiers in the gulf war.
Bone white as primer. Brown wash. Redo with bone white. Add dark brown lines. And then apply clustered tiny black dots. Add even smaller white dots over the black dots aaaaand done!
(The tank is from Battlefield Evolution: Ultra-Modern Tabletop Combat.)

When I saw the body of a Warhammer 40K Necron Destroyer, I immediatelly thought it would be a great basis for an Epic Necron transporter.
The three exhausts on both sides look like cargo bay doors. I imagine the Necron Warriors enter and exit the Ghost Ark transporter there.
The smooth back of the model will be the front of my Epic transporter. In the middle of the hood between the smooth rounded covers there is a mega cannon.
I added a metal part from my bits box to finish my Ghost Ark model.
I really like this kit bashing of Warhammer 40,000 (Fifth Edition) plastics. And certainly when they switch scales from 28mm to Epic 6mm!

My Epic Necron Warriors bases are constructed with vintage Epic Chaos Android miniatures in combination with Edenites from "Exodus Wars".
Necron Warriors
The paint scheme for my Epic Necron army will either be Silver Metalic bodies and light blue Gauss weapons OR Bone White bodies and light blue Gauss weapons. I prefer light blue instead of the official bright green because my Chaos army will be mainly blue (Tzeentch). And I always figured the Chaos Dwarfs were experimenting with Necron Warriors, so I'll field them next to my Chaos army. By using the same blue for both armies, they form a coherent look on the battlefield.
Warriors, C'tann and Destroyers
In the image above you can see three finished Necron Destroyers. To find out how I made these, please refer to my previous blogpost.
Every Necron army needs a sinister C'tan Shard to guide them. For Epic I have found me the perfect miniature that needs NO conversion: a Shade from Descent.
Shade from Descent
When painted in the right colors, this C'tan will strike fear into the hearts of the enemy.

EPIC 40,000
Aaah, Epic Necrons, a real conversion challenge. There are NO official miniatures, so it will be very cool to make myself an army of Arnold Schwarzenegger Terminators.
You've seen my Necron airforce in my blogpost from two days ago. Now it's time for the Destroyers.
I have bought myself some second hand Necron Scarabs from Warhammer 40K (28mm). Some of them had their support poles broken. No problem, I'll attach a piece of ruins to the base first, and then glue the Scarab on top. This will at least give the impression that it can fly (or better: skimmer).
All Destroyers will be glued on round plywood bases. Now that the basic structure is done, I'll have to add a torso and head to the front of the Scarabs.
I am using the old Chaos Android miniatures as Necrons. I'll cut it at the hip and then glue it to the Scarab.
They will become great Epic scale Destroyers! When finished they should look like their Warhammer counterparts:

Necron Night Scythes spotted!
Intercepted message:"The Machine is strong. We must purge the weak, hated flesh and replace it with the blessed purity of metal.
Only through permanence can we truly triumph, only through the Machine can we find victory. Punish the flesh.
Iron in mind and body. Hail the Machine!" ...
