If you don't know Eldar Exodites, then feel free to read an intro here: https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Exodite .
It's Dino-riders* meets Warhammer 40K canon!
It is unfortunate and uncomprehisible that GW's new tactic to publish new miniatures based on old lore did not apply to the reptile-riders yet! (Like they did/do with Genestealer Cultists and Sisters of Battle.)
So it's up to myself to produce an Epic 40,000 Exodite army for me. A selection of toy dinosaurs, my "bitsbox" and some Blu Tack** is the start of this cool project.
Over the year I scavenged some Eldar, Necron and other bits. Time to glue them together.
Guns from MechWarrior, a platform from Necrons, metal bit from GW. This is the look I wish to achieve for my Exodite air force leader.
To maintain an Eldar-look I need to use some genuine Epic Eldar weapons. But I'll use them in a different way than usual. The support platforms will become portable guns.
Have a look at my work on the Exodite army list: http://www.tocoking.be/homerules/files/Epic40000_ArmiesBook_... . The dinosaurs are called Megasaurs. They can be selected in your army as living tanks. But with the typical upgrades you can expect from Epic 40,000 (3rd edition that is). Heavy weapons, disrupt, anti-tank, ... So I'll stick some various weapon bits to various dinosaur toys and they all can be integrated into the Eldar Exodites detachments.
Offcourse these pictures are works in progress and more bits will be used to finish them. But it's a good "sketch" to show where I'm going.
Dino-riders toys from the eighties:(These are not GW.)
In this blog I'll talk about various miniature games. Custom miniatures and minor conversions are my favorite pastime. I'll cover scenery making and painting too. The WIP you'll see here is all about Necromunda, Epic 40,000, Warhammer Fantasy 5th Edition, Warmaster and Warhammer 40K 3rd Edition.

The Eldar Exodite Dragon Knight miniatures above are from "Exodus Wars". I was in doubt whether I'd put them on square or rectangular bases. Final decision: square bases.
For the Exodite Squads I'm using the new Eldar Guardian miniatures (by GW). I'll add two Farseers later to represent Exodite Worldsingers.
The armoured dino's look a lot like the new Warhammer Lizardmen Bastiladons. But I'll glue some armour plates and weapons to them later.
The Eldar Warwalkers in the back will be my Exodite Drovers. You can spot two stands of snipers that will represent Outcast Ranger Squads. I cannot find a good miniature to represent Pathfinder heroes...

I've got sidetracked from my epic Epic adventures by the new release from GW: Lizardmen!
I never owned Terradons because I hated the old miniatures by GW. But I could not walk past a box of these wonderful new sculpts!
... But I know I promised you to start working on my Epic 40K eldar Exodites, so here goes:
Please have a look at my homebrew Exodites army list at http://www.toco.be/homerules . You'll see there's an entry for flyers. The next picture compares the size of the new WFB Terradons with my toy dinosaur pteranodon for the Exodites.
I'll add some gear and cannons to it later. He'll rule the 40K skies
Exodite Storm Guardians:
In my Exodites army list you'll see Harlequins (or Storm Guardians) can be hired. I did not have many of those miniatures, so there are only 4 on each base. Rocks are used as a base filler.
