Blood Bowl (Third Edition) is hot! GW is releasing new edition of the game. I'll stick with third edition. Some teams are still missing from my collection. Dark Elves was one of them.
I scored a bunch of Dark Eldar Warriors and Whyches on the CRISIS Wargames Convention. To build my team I'll combine these with Wood Elves and High Elves bits from my bitsbox.
The three "OldHammer" heads on Dark Eldar torso's will represent Blitzers. Two Whiches will be used as Witch Elves. The rest of the box will be used for my future Necromunda Esher Gang.
I won't be building Runners nor Assassins. Converting up to eight Linemen will be enough top form a top team.
By selecting shield-arms and archer-arms from High Elves and Wood Elves plastic sprues I was able to give the miniatures a Blood Bowl look and feel.
Next team: I want an undead team but I don't have enough skeletons... yet... So I'll put a Nurgle team together by using old Beastmen and Mantic Ghouls...
Miniature Games Construction Yard
In this blog I'll talk about various miniature games. Custom miniatures and minor conversions are my favorite pastime. I'll cover scenery making and painting too.
The WIP you'll see here is all about Necromunda, Epic 40,000, Warhammer Fantasy 5th Edition, Warmaster, Warhammer 40K 3rd Edition and Lord ot Rings.

While browing an old hard disk with backup files I rediscovered some old paintjobs of me. They are from the time when I was still painting miniatures. In the following weeks I'll do some retrospective of my older work. Oooh sweet nostalgia!
This Dark Elves warband was painted for skirmish games like Mordheim and Confrontation. The leader is a conversion based on a resin monster from Leviathan.
Back in those days I was still drawing and sketching fantasy art. The drawing above was inspired on my own Cold One miniature conversion. If you'd like to see more of my artwork, please visit http://www.toco.be/art .
This metal Witch Elf was used in Advanced Heroquest campaigns. According to the filename of the picture I used to call her Esther.

To use my 10 Dark Elf Knights with 28mm Warmaster I have to rebase some of them. Cavalry is six miniatures wide, one row. And I only have 10 miniatures...
The solution was easy. I removed the cavalry bases from two leaders. I then rebased them on 50mm by 50mm bases. That's an equal size to two standard cavalry bases.
Ready, CHARGE!

With my High Elves in base colors, I started to work on their nemeses. The evil Dark Elves!
These miniatures need serious re-basing. I'll keep the bases in a green theme, but all have to be the same color and flock. The bases should generate unit coherence when you look at the army.
Some of my miniatures need to be patched up, but it will only be some minor restoration.

Long time ago I purchased some loose miniatures from Die Schlacht der Dinosaurier. Simply because they looked VERY nice. But they were not exactly suitable for the 28mm heroic scale, neither useful for Warmaster...
I noticed the raptors while working on my Dark Elf army. They look a lot like young Cold Ones. And so the idea was born. A Dark Elf Chariot!
I had some spare 2nd edition plastic Dark Elves. These were selected as drivers. Following picture shows the plasticard bottom of the chariot.
Now by using the plasticard extension, there was room enought to fit one driver.
Only thing left is some modelling putty to fill the holes in the sides of the raptors, and some paint ofcourse!
PS: I did not use chariot bases because I didn't have any. But I think they look nice on the round slottabases.
