Blood Bowl (Third Edition) is hot! GW is releasing new edition of the game. I'll stick with third edition. Some teams are still missing from my collection. Dark Elves was one of them.
I scored a bunch of Dark Eldar Warriors and Whyches on the CRISIS Wargames Convention. To build my team I'll combine these with Wood Elves and High Elves bits from my bitsbox.
The three "OldHammer" heads on Dark Eldar torso's will represent Blitzers. Two Whiches will be used as Witch Elves. The rest of the box will be used for my future Necromunda Esher Gang.
I won't be building Runners nor Assassins. Converting up to eight Linemen will be enough top form a top team.
By selecting shield-arms and archer-arms from High Elves and Wood Elves plastic sprues I was able to give the miniatures a Blood Bowl look and feel.
Next team: I want an undead team but I don't have enough skeletons... yet... So I'll put a Nurgle team together by using old Beastmen and Mantic Ghouls...
In this blog I'll talk about various miniature games. Custom miniatures and minor conversions are my favorite pastime. I'll cover scenery making and painting too. The WIP you'll see here is all about Necromunda, Epic 40,000, Warhammer Fantasy 5th Edition, Warmaster and Warhammer 40K 3rd Edition.

Just when I thought I had all Epic armies... then I spotted this pretty vehicle:
With the whole new range of Stygian 6mm miniatures published by Onslaught Miniatures, I really want to start an Epic Dark Eldar army. And each army needs flyers. The guys from NetEpic had some very good inspiration to create my own army list for 3rd edition Epic.
One of the miniatures is a conversion. It starts with some bits and parts from Warhammer 40K: the Hellions.
The shape and design of this Hellion glider is 100% Warhammer 40K Dark Eldar. Only the scale is off... for a Hellion. But not for an Epic flyer!
The other main part is a plastic sprue from Silent Death.
The fourth ship of the top row, the Dart, fits perfectly into the Hellion glider.
A little dot of superglue combines cockpit and wing section. The enigine and thruster are not glued into place as it was meant to be. Instead I reversed it and cut off the weapons. (They were in the way. I'll add weapon systems later.)
Now I have a beautiful custom Dark Eldar flyer. But I cannot decide to use it as a Voidraven Bomber or as a Slavebringer. (The second flyer is also from the Silent Death sprue. I'll use this one as a Razorwing.)
When landed, it looks like a small transport craft with a loading ramp underneath. (I just have to make its belly bulkier to give it transport capacity.)
Up in the air they look like fierce Voidraven Bombers...
Here are my stats I'll be using in games:
HQ . . . +25 points
Razorwing Jetfighter . . . 40 points
Voidraven Bomber . . . 60 points
Slavebringer Assault Boat . . . 85 points
All profiles are reverse engineered. They are based on Eldar flyers and the article "Slaves to Darkness" from Firepower magazine by Charles Lister.
The SAVE special skill of the Voidraven Bomber simulates its ability to outmanoever most enemy aircraft. It flees to attack another turn...
The SAVE (shadowfield) special skill of the Slavebringer can prevent the precious cargo from being destroyed. The flyer must retreat when hit, but will be able to drop his load after repairing. This SAVE is not as powerful as a SAVE skill for infantry units, but it protects much more points value in one roll (i.e. the infantry units that are carried).
