A quick look at what I've been playing and buying this quarter, and a comparison to last year.

Total plays: 204 (2012 had 144)

Distinct games: 105 (2012 had 67)

New-to-me games: 31 (18 in 2012)

Dimes: 2 (1 in 2012) - The Little Prince: Make Me a Planet and Love Letter

Nickels: 5 (6 in 2012) - FlowerFall, Jackal & High, Equinox, Pax Porfiriana and Cosmic Encounter.

A busy quarter, partly due to London on Board's away weekend falling in April rather than March, and partly to my wife working away from home! The new games figure is scary considering I deliberately learned nothing in June, and my plays in general are rather more scattered than I'd like. Good to see that some of my new acquisitions have had a healthy amount of play already though.

And now a look at the collection.

Acquired: 5 - Volle Scholle (competition prize), The Little Prince: Make Me a Planet, Web of Power, Quacksalbe and Niagara (I don't have a direct comparison but the first half of last year had 33 to this year's 12)

Removed: Sheepdogs of Pendleton Hill and theoretically 7 more games if I ever remember to give them to their intended parties

Owned: 133 (excluding expansions - up from 129 at end Q1)

Unplayed: 5 - Bison: Thunder on the Prairie, Cosmic Eidex, Shoot Out, Volle Scholle, Niagara (down from 6 at end Q1)

Two of these are recent additions, but the other three are still unshifted from Essen. Must get round to Bison as I enjoy pretty much every Kramer/Kiesling I play. Cosmic Eidex is just waiting for the right group... New acquisitions have stayed pretty steady, which is a relief.

Best new-to-me: has to be my most-played game of the quarter, The Little Prince: Make Me a Planet. A beautifully-illustrated and surprisingly mean filler.

New 10s: none

Just a quick look at what I've been playing and buying so far this year, and a comparison to last year.

Total plays: 140 (2012 had 160, but London on Board's away weekend fell earlier that year)

Distinct games: 56 (2012 had 87, again Eastbourne-affected)

New-to-me games: 21 (25 in 2012)

Dimes: 3 (2 in 2012) - Love Letter, Pax Porfiriana and Hanabi

Nickels: 4 (2 in 2012) - Dobble, Cockroach Poker Royal, Kingdom Builder, Coup

Good to see that all indicators are showing a little more focus in my play, though that may be about to go out of the window with another Eastbourne weekend starting this Friday! Very pleased with the in-depth play of Pax Porfiriana that I've managed so far.

And now a look at the collection.

Acquired: 7 - Ur, Divinare, Equinox, FlowerFall, Innovation: Figures in the Sand, Die Dolmengötter and Bargain Hunter (I don't have a direct comparison but last year's tally stood at 33 on 1st June)

Removed: 0

Owned: 129 (excluding expansions)

Unplayed: 6 - Wildlife Adventure, Bison: Thunder on the Prairie, Cosmic Eidex, Shoot Out, Die Dolmengötter, Bargain Hunter

The last two only showed up this morning, but it's worrying to see I still haven't cleared the Essen backlog. New acquisitions are reasonably under control, but they all came in the last month so I need to keep an eye on it! There are also around 20 games I've only played once, which I should either get back to the table or move on.

Best new-to-me: FlowerFall, played for the first time in the US over Christmas and had to import a copy because it's so much fun.

New 10s: Pax Porfiriana and Hanabi have stood up incredibly well to repeat play and join my top ten.
