You might have noticed this new thing that sometimes invades the front page posts: The RPG Spotlight Event. The aim of the event is to increase activity on the site - and of course to provide some fun activities for anyone participating. Every three weeks, a new RPG from the database will be chosen to step into the spotlight.
We have now done this twice already and currently the Spotlight is on Labyrinth Lord. The event is aimed explicitly both at people already playing the game and folks who are just curious and want to learn more. There is also a "Tavern Game" post that is just meant as entertainment for anyone who enjoys RPGs in general.
The best place to dive into the currently running event is to wave hello in the Introduction Thread. This is always present in every Spotlight, so someone already dubbed it the "Groundhog Thread" for returning participants .
What's going on right now?
The following is an overview of the threads created for the current event - so check them out and see if someone catches your interest:
For all the solo RPG gamers out there, there is a thread asking about experiences and tipps for playing Labyrinth Lord as a solo adventure. So if you are interested in this topic, chime in here: [RPG Spotlight] Where is everybody? - Playing Labyrinth Lord Solo
Active players may have something to say about their expectations for a good adventure or remember something that went spectacularly wrong - or amazingly well. These threads could use some more love from those who have played the game at some point!
The LL Tavern Game is about creating a dungeon together. If this sounds like a fun activity to you - no matter how much you know about the actual game - let us know what you think is still missing in The Catacombs of the Nightmare Witch!
What's up on the Horizon?
How do you get notified about new threads in the event? There is of course the possibility to subscribe to the RPG in question, but you can also check the front page for new forum posts: Posts created for these events are always headlined with [RPG Spotlight], so you'll be able to find them easily when browsing the 'geek.
If you want to contribute more to the event - just post your own questions, ideas or Tavern Game! There is also a cross promotion with the 2021 Annual Geek Review Challenge - so write some reviews for extra points over there.
Want to know what come next? Well, we got you covered: As the last week of the current RPG Spotlight is on its way, you can vote for the next RPG to feature in the RPG Spotlight Event Tracker.
A team of hard-hitting investigative reporters brings you the news when it happens, as it happens at the time it happens. Or maybe a little later.
