Don't Play Gray!

A place for me to post about my miniature painting habit! I've rediscoved the hobby after a 20+ year hiatus and am learning all over again.

In the past I've had my miniature paints cobbled together in several places, most in a rolling cart I move in and out of my back utility room when not in use. But as my painting has advanced and I've tried new paints and brands, I've ended up having to have several boxes or travel containers crammed full of paints. With an amazingly helpful BGG member sending me a huge box of Warcolour paints, storage became a bigger issue!

Enter another BGG member Ryan (Outerpop) who has decided to create a paint storage solution for us! I had known Ryan from here and the mini painting guild, so when I saw what he was working on I needed to get on board! This is the first (unsolicited) recommendation I've ever made on my blog by the way.

Ryan was incredibly helpful and we talked about what amount and what type of racks I needed. These racks are modular and he has different sized slats to fit different paint sizes. As a result I have the lower racks sized for Warcolours, moving up into Scale 75, to Vallejo, to Turbodork, to Citadels at the very top. Each rack can be stacked--giving you an extra row of storage in this configuration since you don't need a bottom end plate. You can also arrange these horizontally or in any group you have room for.

Also, these were very easy to put together and mount--you need wood or PVA glue and drywall screws. I am the least handy person I know and I was able to do this without any issues at all! Also, once the backplates are installed on the wall, you can actually pull the racks off of them and rearrange in case you change your paint types.

If you are not sure about what you need, message Ryan and he'll help you out. He pretty much does these to order, so it it says he is out of stock, I'd message him so he knows you are interested. Below is the link to his Esty shop if you want to take a look.

Now I just need to actually go back and organize these a bit better by color and get using those paints that are not directly in front of me when I'm at my work station! Oh, and my home brewery is just to the right of the rack if you're wondering what all the odd jars, equipment, tinctures, and powders are...
