Last Year there a little card game of Thomas Lehmann which was find high on the fair-play list. I got a speed-demo at the booth of Amigo and it was a pity it was only in German language yet.

Nice colorful artwork of Klemens Franz
Just before this summer 999 games release the Dutch version and I was glad to become a copy. After reading the rules I got a flashback memory of San Juan but now in a western civilization. A little small box with always fits in my suitcase and photo-backpack.
999 Games did a good job to change the box cover. It look more European.
In Metropolis the players try to build quickly and skillfully build their own city over the rounds, bringing in revenue and victory points . The cards are both buildings and currency, and the first player to collect 50 victory points wins the game. It's easy to play within 30 minutes or shorter. My nine year old son like the game and we played it several times in park and in front of a museum while we where waiting.
The game play is fast, quick and easy to pick up. It's a very solid family and for adults a nice filler. I also introduced it on a lunch to a colleague.

For this good looking city building card game you got a lot of fun in a small box for a friendly price. There is enough dept for the length of play. Explained with a few minutes. Recommanded for families!
