Button Shy since its inception has maintained a frantic release schedule. Not only does Button Shy release a monthly wallet game, but also maintains a board game of a month club that releases postcard games and 9 card games.
The Button Shy Rookie blog pays homage to Button Shy giving new designers a chance by highlighting the Button Shy Rookies who later publish games with other publishers.
Yes, big names have published with Button Shy. Jon Gilmour, Elizabeth Hargrave, Scott Almes, T.C. Petty III, Ben Pinchback, and Matt Riddle have all designed a Button Shy Game. But Button Shy is not their first publication, and most were well known boardgame designers before their first Button Shy game.
This series is not about them*. Instead, Button Shy Rookies articles will highlight a boardgame designer(s) whose initial publication was with Button Shy Games and their most successful publication with another publisher**.
The order of the articles is based on the highest ranking or number owned for their non-Button Shy game publications. The articles will start from the lowest ranking/owned games and work its way up. To keep things a little more exciting, the games will be divided in half and rotate between designers starting from the bottom of the list with designers starting from the middle.
* Unless they co-designed for the first time with someone and then later co-designed with them again in the future.
