In life you have to do a lot of things you don't f*cking want to do. Many times, that's what the f*ck life is... one vile f*cking task after another.

Dungeons & Dragons: Arena of War Announced
Wizards of the Coast has partnered with DeNA to bring a new D&D title to iOS and Android. Unfortunately, all we really know at this point is the title, Dungeons & Dragons: Arena of War. They mention that it combines questing, character leveling, and small team collaboration. If it didn't, could they call it D&D? They are also claiming this is the first D&D game for mobile. I wonder what that means for D&D: Warbands, which we mentioned last autumn. Anyway, we'll let you know when we have more information.
Rebuild Sequel Coming Next Year
One of my favorite games on my iPad is Rebuild by developer Sarah Northway. It's a fantastic turn-based puzzle game dripping with post-apocalyptic zombie theme. To my delight, Owen at Pockettactics posted a story indicating that the sequel is in the works. Titled Rebuild: Gangs of Deadsville, this foray into zombie-hell has other groups of survivors on the map with you, and you can interact for good or evil with them in your fight for survival. There's a ton of info on the game's wiki page, including a player survey where you can give some input on how the game might go forward. It should be out for iOS, Android and PC in 2014. Can't wait!
Small World Price Gets Small
The guys at Days of Wonder are getting in on the Memorial Day sales as well. Small World 2 is now on sale for $2.99USD. It's normally $6.99USD, so that's a healthy drop if you haven't picked this one up yet. You can get Small World for iPad on the App Store.
Neocolonialism Into Beta
Brad mentioned this original board game for PC when he was at PAX East. Here's the developer describing the game:
Subaltern Games wrote:
Neocolonialism is a Marxist strategy game for 3-6 players. Your goal is to extract as much wealth from the world as possible in 12 turns. You will buy government votes, make free trade agreements, manipulate the IMF, extract wealth, and ruin everything. Also, the map is upside-down.
The game has just entered beta, and they've posted a trailer showing the gameplay. The beta is for PC, but the developer hopes to have it available for iOS as well.
Patchwork Battles Kickstarter Begins
Not sure this fits in this column, but it sounded pretty cool so I'm throwing it in anyway. Patchwork Battles is a single-player RPG in which you play an "Animator" and have to do all those questy things typical of RPGs. The cool part is that you can create "mimics" to help you on your trip. You build them using all sorts of different parts, and those parts give each creature different powers. It's planned for iOS, Android, PC and Mac. The Kickstarter just began, so you can head there to check out more about the game.
