Commands & Colors: Napoleonics Expansion #1 – The Spanish Armyhttp://www.ccnapoleonics.net/Maps/Peninsular-War-1808-1814/1...
I read the aftermath for this scenario beforehand, and it convinced me to attack on the Right. What was supposed to be a gentle and safe attack versus the Spanish militia deteriorated to a bloody French repulse where the French couldn't finish eliminating any Spanish units, and took brutal losses themselves. Ultimately the entire French right was destroyed.
I had also moved the French cavalry across to just behind the town of Quintaina, where Brent pulled out a slick move. The Spanish cavalry charged the French cavalry, which they managed to contain. Brent then Guerilla stopped my response, and cavalry charged again. Ultimately this claimed one cavalry, and my next response killed both Spanish LC, but it was pretty galling at the time. Dice were on my side here.
Score was tied at 4-4 where I pulled out a silly effort. For some reason I had in mind it was a 6 banner game, so I pressed up on the French left , think I could win before I lost. In fact I could only take 1 banner, and lost 3.
7-5 Spanish victory
