Oi! Hands off...
None of us had been murdered in our beds by a man called Jason, the same four as last week combined at the White Lion to see if we could disprove the alleged unluckiness of Friday thirteenth.
It didn't look to be Tony's lucky day when he walked in and found us playing the hated Ticket To Ride Card Game but it was much enjoyed by Ben and John as we got roundly trounced by Becky.
Key Market is a game we've all had a little experience with, so we set it up to toy about again. Ben set about gathering luxuries and retiring workers early, but Tony hit his stride in the Salesman's Guild. Becky looked for all the world to have it sewn up, but Tony produced an extra pair of goods at the last minute and pipped her by one place. I turned out to be one resource short for my fourth retirement, which would have put me in the mix also.
John dabbled a little about what to play next, and settled on Yspahan, which only Tony had ever played once before. It didn't stop him wiping the floor with the rest of us, mind, as some fairly daft mistakes were made by the remaining trio. Most notably me, as I came some forty points behind the field. I can safely say that Yspahan is a better game than the lukewarm Livingstone, though, and the latter has been made pretty redundant.
Right - blog up to date, and more games to come tonight (and tomorrow, thanks to the Cardiff Games Day). Tentative plans tonight are to break out my new copy of Biblios and possibly a bit of Keythedral in order for Becky to get her revenge on Tony.
