I usually don't post twice in one day, but this is a pretty major story...read on.
Summoner Wars Faction Issues Resolved
Playdek is generally thought to be one of, if not the, best board game developers for iOS working today. With excellent ports like Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer, Agricola, and Lords of Waterdeep under their belt, they are pretty much an iOS juggernaut.
That said, there was one blemish on their résumé that has actually been a pretty huge deal. We'll call it the Summoner Wars Issue. When iOS 7 was released last September, some glitch caused players to be unable to restore any purchased factions in the game. So, the game went from a classic (winning GOTY honors in 2012 over at Pocket Tactics) to a dud with people not able to play all the factions in the game.
This happened 5 months ago, which is a long time for a problem like this to fester, and Playdek kept telling us that "they're working on it". Then, in January, Playdek claimed that a fix on the Apple side of the App Store should fix the problem. Well, that date came and went with no changes to the issue at hand.
That ends today, people.
Gary Weis of Playdek posted today that Apple released another update overnight and it has fixed the IAP issue in Summoner Wars.
Skeptical? Don't be. I just went and tried to restore my purchases, and there they were! It works! So, head into Summoner Wars and restore your purchases and get back to playing one of the best boardgame ports on iOS.
Summoner Wars is for iOS Universal, costs $1 and can be downloaded here.
